Initially I was going to raptor line it. However, I'll probably end up just wrapping it. No rush though lol

So the red stripes are actually painted on the only decals are the reflective material/ flags.

You can buy replacement covers for the red lights as someone mentioned.. and yiu can replace the light bar on the top of the box with a white LED bar since you have power there already.

I'd be interested in seeing the dash switch set up and if the lights/sirens are still operational?

I made covers out of 1/8" aluminum that replaced the lenses and used the existing gaskets as they were still watertight. Everything worked (lights & sirens) when purchased but now only sirens work. All of my switches are in the center console. I will post a pic on my next update.

Awesome build! I just had a clients ambulance here adding a few things and doing some electrical repair. I love these ambulances as conversion platforms. All the doors are high quality, nice and square (as apposed to the sprinters or transits), and tons or room to chase wires! I’ll be following along!

Thanks! Yes, definitely easier to build working with straight lines lol. I've actually gotten a compliment on how good the doors sound closing and how they must be of grat quality.

    Update 1/19

Not really much of an update. Project has been sitting idle since returning from the first trip. Have a lot of "life" stuff taking priority.

    Here's some more pictures...

    20230107_145126.jpg

    20230107_145414.jpg

The center console was one of the first things I made for the ambulance. The original one was small, made of aluminum and didn't have cup holders. Plus, it blocked the factory cup holders.
Now I have the factory dash pull out and two in the center console.

The console is attached to the doghouse via the existing brackets from the old center console.

Will probably install my solar panels and solar charge controller when I get a chance to read the manuals. I have 4 200w panels but may only be installing two for now until I add another battery.

    Update 2/7 part dos

Well winds have died down so I popped the awning open again. Super pleased with everything so far. Opening and closing is a breeze and even getting everything out back in the cover is easy.

    20230207_180259.jpg

There is a rain guard I need to put on that covers from the door forward. But man is this thing huge.

    20230207_180223.jpg

Biggest selling point for me was that I don't need to use the support poles unless conditions become unfavorable.

    20230207_180232.jpg

Also plan on getting the zip on walls either through this manufacturer when they become available, or I will just get some made.

    Update 3/25:

Another round of build updates for the past couple months.

Took the rig in for its 60k service before taking a trip to Georgia. Second longest trip I've taken in it. First being when I drove it home after purchase.

Trip was awesome and didn't have any issues traveling or during the stay.

Prepping the rig now for a month long trip to Montana in July.

Added some gauges so I can monitor trans, egt, and boost.

Also changed out one of the scene lights with an led flood lights. Made a plate that uses the same gasket and holes as the lights and cut a hole in it for the led.

Was gonna put two on each side, but one is pretty bright.

    4/15/23 Update:

Plugged in the solar this morning. Only 3 panels installed right now (600w).

    20230415_102149.jpg

Turned on all my 12v in the box with batteries turned off. Everything runs with just solar power. Obviously any real load on the inverter will require battery power. And at night *

    4/17/23 Update:

Bought a little window unit air conditioner over the weekend to try and find a place it could fit before buying a roof unit. I wanted to go this route because it's a lot cheaper and the window unit is only 537 watts, which means the solar should be able to handle it for the most part which would be awesome. (Daytime, sunny)

Removed an unused strobe and housing.

    20230417_174359.jpg

    Measure once and send it.

    20230417_180130.jpg

Too late to change my mind now lol.

    20230417_184953.jpg

    Fits like a glove.

    20230417_193919.jpg

    20230417_194608.jpg

Hopefully will wrap this up tomorrow and get power ran to it by the end of the week and get everything put back together.
