I'm sure there is but the summary is that it will not give you much benefit. Only do it for looks and for the noise with less filtration.

Cabin air filter should be looked at once a month maybe between Nov and Feb in the Cold weather states...the mice get in there fast...

I have an AEM or AEM knockoff washable engine air filter. Beat the dust out of it anytime, wash it with water once and a while. I live in dust, saves a lot of money. I have spare cabin filters, hardly ever change them since installing anti rodent screening.

Both at every 20,000 miles...which (with my driving) is about 1-1/2 years.

I've changed out the air filter and cabin filter 2 times in 15 years on my 2007... comes out to about every 17,000 miles. I did the wire mesh rodent protection mod on the housing above the cabin air and added a pre-filter on top of it so my cabin filter stays pretty clean... just shake off some dust once in a while.

I change the engine air filter every 5k when I change the oil. I bought a dozen for 7 dollars each when I got my truck about 6 months ago. I live in the country on a dusty road but even if not I think the air filter being as clean as it can be is as important as clean fuel. Paying 20 dollars for a an OEM one is foolish. The cabin one every year. They are 5 bucks if you shop around.

Engine air filter? Probably never because snorkel.

cabin air filter yearly. It’s small, clogs fast, and easy to change. I don’t need a clogged filter stressing and prematurely damaging my AC compressor.

Never thought about that filter stressing the AC. Change it every 20k and it usually looks like its due. Maybe this will motivate me to do it every 15k

usually when a car has a blown compressor the filter looks like crap. And they tend to last 100k in general.

new parts aren’t always made as good as old ones. I want the AC to last. So if the filter is dirty I’ll either shake it off or replace. Cheaper than other filters.

it also can’t last as long as other brands because it’s not nearly as big as other ones nor quantity. Like cars that have 2-4 (Mercedes).

same goes for the occasional recharge service to make sure the right amount of r134a is present, with good clean PAG oil and gas. Working at a shop, it’s basically free to do, and just means parking the truck inside on a scheduled Saturday off in the corner hooked up to the machine to do it’s own thing automatically.
Last recharge included replacing a leaking schrader valve at the charge ports with a service kit from Oreillys who had it in stock when it started leaking.

I can’t remember the last time I changed my cabin filter

I change the engine air filter once a year. Used to run K&N but after a trip in some sands I tossed it out, paper for me now
