Common 4BT Swap Vehicles
The Cummins 4BT Engine can be swapped into almost any 4 x 4 vehicle. Common automotive models include Jeep Wranglers, Jeep Grand Cherokees, Land Rovers, Toyota FJ Cruisers, Toyota 4Runners, Nissan Xterras, Mercedes-Benz G500s, Ford 150s, Ford Raptors, Ford Broncos or Chevy Colorado. 4bts are a common swap on fzj80, on stock axle housings. I'm not sure about the axle shafts or gearing

 

I like when a vehicle doesn’t sound as expected. Wonder why the Tacoma is seemingly never part of the engine swap crew?

 

Because the Tacoma's have enough power for most people.

Because people are still making payments on them.

And because Tacoma people for the most part are not the same as landcruiser people

Have a friend with a jku. Engine popped at 60k miles just outside Warrenty. (It actually seized as he was returning from his 60k miles service). He put a 4bt in it. I think people buy Toyota’s for the reliability of the engine, so they don’t get the frequent opportunities to replace them.
