2022 Tacoma Trail/Pro Wheel Availability/Pricing?

They swapped the tpms but the valve didn't fit properly so had to buy 4 new valves. Part number 90942-A5005

 

Im a little confused, my tpms has the silver-ish rigid metal valve stems and this valve looks to be the black flex rubber?

 

Your fine , they have to use those for the wheels since they are made to accept a different style TPMS

 

Just spoke with Lewis Topeka today, sounds like Toyota’s been awesome. Half the wheels they got were damaged, some weren’t even correct and the center caps are who knows where. He mentioned he received over 15 orders for wheels and has completed about half…

Yeah, discount tire saw a ding that I overlooked. Luckily it’s on a part of the edge of the wheel that the bead hides it enough. The fact we got them on sale, Im ok with it.

 

so my independent shop quoted me $18 wheel to install. When I asked if that includes TPMS transfer she asked me what that is. Then I called Toyota and they quoted $90 including tpms transfer (and actually knew what it was). So an extra $18 to swap knowing that they may know what they’re doing.

 

How big was it, i see one too on my set but its so small that it seems like a non issue.

 

Now that the paranoia is settling in i have to ask:

-Will this one still hold air?
-Should i bring it up with the parts store to get a new one (potentially wait another month, backordered)?
-could this cause stress concentrations and result in cracking in the future?




The rim doesn’t seem to be out of round, but there is only so much i can do by just looking at it.

 

Little more info on the valve stem issue: If you're switching over tpms sensors and valve stems, only the rigid metal valve stems are reusable. The flexible rubber ones apparently can't be reused as they are damaged when removing them is what I was told.

An independent tire shop and my local Toyota dealership failed to stock replacements so 4 needed to be ordered. Keep that in mind you have the flexible "outdated" rubber ones like I did. (2023 TRD Offroad)

 

It’s like 3 mm, right at the edge of the lip. When the tire was off and they pointed it out, I noticed it. When the tire was installed, I had a difficult time finding it. It wasn’t a scratch, it was a ding, and they still painted over it anyway.

 

Just get them mounted. That’s nothing. And it’s in the inner lip where no one sees it

 

After the two day valve stem debacle, they are on and mounted. Nightshade overlays come tomorrow.

 

$36 more to add to the bill fun!

After almost 2 months of getting parts together finally got these bad boys mounted!

 

Almost same as @myn75, 6 weeks later, 3 tire stores and I have my wheels on. Good luck to all getting their wheels!

 

It is- Toyota of Manhattan. Brand new building that was opened over the summer. Show room and service drop off is on the 4th floor overlooking Hudson Yards. Service is done on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the building. Pretty wild and beautifully done.

 

these are like the perfect amount of offset, cant stop looking at it lol!
