The SEC missed it 3 times. That's beyond belief. I won't go so far as to say certain people in the SEC at the time where complicit. One thing stood out to me though. His second go around with the SEC he went to the SEC building to speak with them. Alone and carrying his briefcase. The produces even go so far as to point out that it was far from normal for a CEO to travel alone much less carry his own brief case.

Now, logically, what was in that briefcase and why was he alone? lol

 

This for sure raised questions in my mind as well.

I guess us in-between peons who actually saved and invested are not so trusting. "Rich" idiots flocking to this guy, seeking him out? Not one up to 2007 said, "he's not even registered, he's not licensed"??? Crikey, seems like some (not all) people who got those millions...................well greed got them. We are all susceptible.

That said, pretty sure Fidelity, Vanguard, and my banks and credit union are not running a ponzi on floor 17! Well I hope.

The fact he was running a legit business as a broker/market maker and still continued his side hustle is crazy. You probably know this but some here probably don't. There's only 8 market makers for the whole of the US stock trading system. He was that high up in the food chain. If he hadn't used money from the hustle to fund the MM side in 2008 there's a very real chance that side of the business could have survived. Instead it was snapped up for pennies on the dollar.

Australian based, working a cold case murder approx 20 years later. 6 episode series. First episode is slow, but it's well written and there are twists and turns all the way up to the very end. Very surprising, very good.

Pale Blue Eye (something like that) on NF

Movie. 1840 whodunnit. We found it quite entertaining.

 

Jurassic World Dominion. Amazon.

Reminded me of a Marvel super hero smash up, think Infinity Wars. Almost everyone who has been in a Jurassic dino movie shows up. Hokey and woke, it is a save the world movie. Regardless, fun, decently fast, family fair.

 

My friend loathed that movie. He called it "just another low stakes, recycled soft-pitch yawnfest from Hollywood corporate." He's a little harsher on movies than I am. I haven't watched it yet, so haven't formed an opinion.



I personally think the franchise suffers the same logic problem as the Home alone movies: Just how many ways can Kevin McAllister escape from the raptor pen before it starts getting stupid?

 

Finished the walking dead and enjoyed it.

Vikings Valhalla season two comes out this Thursday

 

You need to lower your expectations. I wasn’t expecting much. Not disappointed. JPD had great CG. Everybody has great CG. Great CG alone doesn’t cut it any more.

 

Unless you're Pixar. lol
