Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) in Canadian dollars and includes Freight & PDI of $1,930, Air Conditioning Charge of $100, Tire Levy of $25, and Dealer Fees of up to $990.

That's why price went up so much, they included everything in MSRP now.

I have my quote from January 2022 which was $47,455 including MSRP, freight and PDI, government levies (AC and tires), dealer fees but no tax. Looking at the website right now the same build is $48,505 before taxes including all the same items so a $990 increase. This is just for a standard TRD off-road (non-premium).

I ordered a TRD sport (DCSB MT) today. The final price was $55607, up $540 from the December quote. Don't know if that helps.

I'm replacing my 2004 DC OR hopefully before the Tacoma winds up with a turbocharged 4 cylinder. I'm not completely sure I want to go back to a manual after 19 years though... do you folks all prefer the OR to the sport?

The sales guy offered to order one of each for me, but I demurred, at least for now.

Prices went up $640 on MSRP Jan 1. They did something similar Jan 1 2022. So Not a massive increase like previously stated.

They are just now doing what Quebec mandated before in all provinces it looks like, including all freight/pdi, other fees and doc fees (max) into the price. All you need to add is tax. I like this approach as before prices looked artificially low and people had no clue that what they saw online wasn't actually the price they pay.

Looked at a used truck at our local dealer here in Ontario , ended up buying a 2023 SR5 DCLB . Supposedly it was someones cancelled order . $45,830 plus tax. Dealer fee was $399 but they call it rim and tire warranty in the final paperwork .Got $500 credit for any tires/parts/service since it was a no trade deal . Purchased end of Dec . Not sure if all come with 2 sets of floor mats and trailer ball mount . The only other new Tacoma they had was a white 23 TRD Sport DCLB . It may be still available at last years price .

Brother in law ordered a 2022 but got a 2023 TRD manual he waited so long . Found out from him they are not much for discounts on them right now . Other brother in law has a 2020 TRD OR so they didn't think I did too bad on the price .

Don't buy vehicles very often so my hand was shaking when I wrote the cheque being the cheap bugger that I am .

You paid cash? When someone asks about the payments, you can "They were pretty big, but fortunately there was only one of them!" :) I'm not looking forward to writing that cheque either...

Right now if you have the money it makes sense. Back when interest rates were low it did not. Toyota Canada has ridiculous interest rates right now

    What's demurred?

That's what came with mine also.
What a waste of money as the first thing I bought was better aftermarket mats.
Already have all sorts of hitch balls and mounts.
Toyota should have built in electric tailgate lock and bed lights instead.

I agree. My 2020 tundra did come with nice all weather mats but I did swap them out for a husky front weathertech rear combo. The Tacoma mats are terrible for winter.

Toyota is annoying when it comes to some basic features such as no tailgate lock on a 50k midsize truck. My 2020 tundra was 60k and I have to manually insert a key into my tailgate to lock it.

Other brands have annoying features too. The redesigned 2023 chev Colorado has a manual/ non-powered sliding rear window. How often is that going to be opened? At least the higher trim tacomas is powered.

Same here. 60+k Tacoma and have to use manual key. And even more stupid is you get one proper sized key and 2 tiny ones in the fobs that you're afraid to use cause they may break.
Don't even get me started on terrible parts service. A week after giving them 67k cash I went to get a bed mat. Waited at parts counter for 15 min while parts guy shuffled papers. He then looked at me and said "yes" with huge attitude. I told him I wanted a bed mat for a Tacoma. He then disappeared in the back for 15 min. Slammed mat on counter and said "here". I asked if any discount for new purchase customer. He looked at me as if I had 2 heads and said "no".
I went home and tried to install mat. It was wrong size. Went back to dealer and guy said it wasn't possible. I said look at label it's for a Tundra and I have a Tacoma. Guy disappears in back for another 15 min and slaps a Tacoma mat on counter and says "here".
Dealers want your money but sure don't treat you well after they get it.
Dreading my 1st service visit for an oil change.

Yikes. Did not encounter this at my local dealer. Parts guy was in his late 40's or early 50's on my first visit. Great guy and was willing to offer discounts on parts I was ordering. Subsequent visits were 2 different fellas. One older and one younger. Both were good. No attitude. However, it can be very hit and miss out there. If I get treated like shit anywhere won't hesitate to go elsewhere. Even if it means going out of my way.

after what I have experienced in the service department with my 4Runner and Tundra, my Tacoma won’t see that place. If it means a hundred dollar repair on my dime I’ll gladly save myself the headache and just fix it myself.
The latest round was my tundras tailgate hinge. 1st time in they removed tailgate gouging the paint and all for nothing as they orders the wrong part. After I talked to the service manager he agreed this was unacceptable. So it went back in to get fixed and they scratched the paint up again. Fast forward 5 weeks and the hinge (plastic) breaks again. When I call the lady quoted me parts and labour prices, yes after she looked me up and said you just had that fixed 5 weeks ago. When I said I’m not paying to have this fixed again they respond like I’m the one being unreasonable. Complete shit service.

I did my Tacoma’s first oil change on my back in my garage.

I can adjust my headlights from the drivers seat while going down the road in my tundra, but power tailgate lock? Absolutely not haha

I thought perhaps my dealer was throwing theses things in as a bonus , should have known better . The last Toyota truck I bought new was a 2.4 l diesel back about 1986/87 so long time between new vehicles .
