Probably not the best place to post this but…. I need help assembling a strut. Is there anyone on here in the Atlanta area that could help me? I know it’s supposed to be relatively easy but I’ve never done it myself and I hear compressing the springs is dangerous.

I’m adding the westcott lift to the Fox TRD Pro struts so it’s just a matter of replacing the collar and adding a plate under the top hat. I can handle the install on the truck by myself I just need help with assembly.

Thanks to anyone that might be willing to help. Drinks and food of course is covered.

You can install the shock and spring together using the weight of the vehicle to compress the spring. I've done both ways (using the weight of the vehicle and a spring compressor), I will never go back to the spring compressor. You can also call up a shop and bring the parts to then and they will assemble them for you for about $50.

I used the truck when I installed 600# springs - it was very straightforward.

However, I think you will have a hard time using the truck to compress 650# or 700# springs.

I can tell you the truck will compress an ome 886 coil which is a 660# spring. Anything beyond that you will have to find out for yourself.

Thanks Alan I appreciate the advice. Using that vehicle weight to compress sounds like a great idea. Let us know which shop your talking about because I called around to a few places and most wanted a lot more than $50 just for one strut assembly.
