I can't complain. I'm in Florida helping repair storm damage, fishing, kayaking, and hanging out with my Mom and her BF.

Sounds like a good combo of a productive and fun trip! How long will you be gone?

3-4 weeks total. I'm planning on knocking out most of the work this week and having taking it easy the rest of the time. Hoping to get in a road trip to the Keys at some point. Tomorrow I'm planning on paddling out to a group of islands I've been wanting to fish for a few years. :woot:

What area of Florida? Will you be paddling out alone, is that safe?

Sorry….the mom in me can’t help but ask:rolleyes:

We appreciate your protective nature! No apology necessary. :)

    Edit, Pine Island area

Yes, I'll be alone. It's an area with regular boat and kayak traffic nearby. I'll be within about 1.25 miles from shore.

I stay in shallow areas, too. One time I paddled into an area where I couldn't see bottom anymore and I saw some thing under the kayak and freaked out, so I stay in shallow water usually. It didn't help that it was an area we had seen a big shark a few days prior to that

Here's a map screenshot of where I am heading, and my current location. I'll probably head toward the group of houses to the east of the Islands and then beeline west and start fishing.

The Snook have been super active in the canal and in the backwaters, though. It's been a good year for fishing, so far.

I love kayaking but stick to a creek near my house. Kayaking where sharks were spotted

Still don’t like the sound of all of that solo kayaking….. check in when you get back. Tag me so I don’t miss it! Stay safe!

If ya have your phone, take pics too please…. You know how I like pics

Relentless Fab hybrid bumper, 2.5” Dobinsons IMS lift, RCI skids and sliders, block heater. Painted FJ Steelies. Was trying to keep it stock, now slowly building for the Wisconsin trails.

I looked into the inreach awhile back. I'm not out of cell service or deep enough away from service for me to justify the service cost. I agree we are not far away from global SMS, which is exciting.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Pulled into one of my pickups on Thurs to see this in the field next to them:

45 turkeys there, another 9 off the right side of the pic.

Not too bad, how you doing? Umm, just the one mini adventure I posted up in here a bit ago. Definitely not as many adventures during winter.

My dad would never have put up with this... Oldest daughter is home from college and is vegetarian. Youngest is a MidWest special and will eat no spice. Wife and I like it f'in spicy... Three meals for one sitting.

I don't get the vegetarian think. How can you go a day wit bacon,a nice thick pork chop, venison chili and the list goes on.

I don't think I could do it, either. But, I've had some very tasty vegetarian dishes. Vegan is another level, though. This is Wisconsin. I don't think I could live without cheese. :D
