Where will you be getting your future oil changes done on the new truck? Or will you try and do your own?

I’ll be going to a personal friend’s shop for all future needs unless it’s a warranty item.

Happy for you, that this nightmare is in your rear view mirror.

Dealer left my oil cap off and I didn’t realize until 2k miles later at the 15k/18month service (for no good reason but probably to top off fluids) now i wont use the rest of the junk toyotacare schedule for shit like this.

Good news. Now do your own oil changes. I'm over weight, close to 60 with a heart pump, and I still do my own maintenance.

Yes I am very happy. Even though it cost me a little bit the difference considering the circumstances was very fair. My new truck came with the side steps pictured that I had never seen. My old truck had the predator bars. My little boy prefers the new steps because they’re bigger. I also believe they’ll provide more protection from road debris etc.

Those new side rails are cool! I didn't see them on the Toyota build site. Do you have any more information about them?

From what I can tell they are an option through Southeast Toyota.

    WooHoo!

    SPORT TIME!!!

Very happy for you that you finally have your replacement Tacoma back in your hands.

Are you planning on getting the TRD Skid? Oil changes with that skid on was a PITA last week when I did my first oil change.

If you like the Air Dam, then you'll probably keep the OEM skid.

I doubt I’ll be getting the skid. This truck has the mandatory things I wanted: steps, window tint, door sill protectors, and all weather mats. I’m a pretty basic guy.

    That's cool.

I did not get an upgraded package on my Sport...just the floor mats and door sills.

My expenses have probably equaled $5K or just under.

Enjoy your truck now that you have it!

I forgot to add that this one came with the Toyo tires instead of the Firestones. I like the looks of the Toyo tires better. Had no problem with the Firestones but the Toyo tires have a more aggressive tread pattern.

I took my Tacoma to my dealer for the first oil change at 8600 miles about 10 days ago. I checked the oil and started the truck to check for leaks before driving away from the dealership. Yesterday I noticed drops of oil under the truck in my garage. I took off the skid plate and saw a drop of oil on the filter and a few bolts. I don't think it is spraying oil. I decided to remove the filter housing to see if the gasket was pinched. I had a hard time removing the plastic filter housing. I suspect the tech overtightened the housing and it has a hairline crack. I bought a Dorman aluminum housing from Auto Zone. Going to see if it leaks before contacting the dealer. If that is the problem I will not let them change the oil again. At least I didn't lose all my oil like Ranneyhill.
