Does anyone here know online where I can find electrical diagrams for specific appliances? I dont mind paying a little to get a membership if needed. Whirlpool dryer decided to stop working and its not anything obvious, model WED4800BQ1.

 

Lots of times theres a basic one on the back of the dryer.


What are the symptoms. Is the drum turning?

 

Found the wiring diagram printout way way inside the dryer. Drum motor is not turning but heat element comes on. Heat element stays on regardless of if door is open or not, switch tests good and I hear a relay clicking from the control panel when I cycle the door switch. Need to look through wiring diagram to see how it all goes.

EDIT - Got it, thermal fuse for motor blew, now just try to locate one available on Sunday.

You sure it's a fuse? If it's heating but the drum isn't turning that suggests belt to me, but I'm certainly no expert.

 

Has anyone installed a Dual fuel furnace system?

Wife vetoed the mini split, between that, the rebates and my gas furnace being 22 years old I think I want to upgrade.

From what I understand, it's just a gas furnace with a central heat pump in line with shared control where you can set the temp limit where it switches from heat pump to gas.

 

Fixed (for now), no further help needed, thank you though.

Yes fuse is bad, its possible that theres a reason it blew so I bought two from Amazon to arrive Tuesday.

I ended up jumped the wires together to bypass the fuse to get the last load of laundry dry for the weekend.

The sign of a "true" parent is buying the kid some big toy and having them more interested in the box it came in. My mom would go to the appliance store and bring home several big boxes and us kids would have days of fun. After I became a "true" parent I'd bring home boxes from work. Ain't nothing wrong with a little imagination and a big box.

all heat pumps should have a secondary heat source (usually electric strip heat) and a 2 or 3 stage heat call on the thermostat newer smarts t-stats should help calculate the changeover point by price of the fuel
ductwork may need to be upgraded for the heat pump
