Need help diagnosing sound. Pretty sure it’s serp, stealership wants me to leave it with them for the night to diagnose. I’d rather just know and then try to fix it myself.

Tried to upload a video but it wouldn’t work. Squeal comes when I start the truck and gets better as I drive. Used to just go away, but now it’s being a bit more stubborn.

    Lmk what y’all think.

    thanks everyone

    Belt isn't expensive is it?

Mileage justify a change? If so try it and see what happens.

While off, check all the pulleys

    Alright videos up.

probably justifies. Almost 100000 miles now. I wouldn’t be able to do it myself so I’d need help or pay someone or take it in.

Can't hear anything worthwhile, but I agree with the idea "It's due anyway just do it"

Your truck sees a lot of road grime/mud, belts don't like that, plus it looks like one rib is worn.

If you replace it make sure it’s completely on all the pulleys correctly.
A member did his and do to it not being on the crank pulley correctly the belt came off
And took out his front main seal on the first start up. Definitely double check it before starting it up.

Good to know. Y’all think I should just do the belt or the pulleys too?

That does make it look pretty easy. With my luck I’ll end up blowing the tranny when I do it lol ;).

Thats a 2.7, the 4.0 is done from underneath typically.

Start with the belt. (my opinion)

Spray the belt with spray bottle of water on stream. If it changes then it’s the belt.

At 100k you on a belt, you need to do it anyways. Pull the old belt off, store it in the truck just in case.

While you have the belt off spin everything by hand especially the idler and tensioner pulleys

To elaborate on the water test, spray some water on the inside of the belt, if the noise goes away momentarily, the belt is likely the culprit although that does not rule out a faulty tensioner which can cause belt noise if there is not sufficient tension. If there is no change in noise with water, then a faulty bearing is likely the cause - but which bearing?! With the belt off, rotate each bearing to feel for smooth free spin and no side to side or fore/aft movement. Before removing the belt you can try the following.
