Was out snowmobiling on a guys property with permission 2 weeks ago. He owned 50 THOUSAND acres. My brain cant handle how big that was.

That's incredible. How do you even begin to fence that much area or is it more like- I own from that mountain to this mountain...

 

Here in Michigan, a perfect county is 36 x 36 miles. 1296 square miles.
1298 x 640 is 82944 acres.

50k acres is .64 % of a Michigan county.

That's some big country.

 

Sounds pretty wonderful. I lived in base housing in Topsham back in the 80’s, a four plex and we were lucky to be in an end unit (only one wall to share). I’m guessing the military sold the housing to some civilian group. Nothing but fond memories living in Maine.

Almost everything was sold. I am not sure if those buildings were used or torn down. The repurposing of the former base is going very, very well. My work, Recreation Department, took over the former fitness center so I go onto the former BNAS, now called Brunswick Landing, each day I go to work.

 

My tax papers say my property is .46 acres, but it looks mighty small...



Makes me wonder if my claims of 6" is really true as well...

I’ve a got a friend who owns a 30k acres ranch in west Texas. It’s crazy going out there. He won’t sell you a hunt unless you are comfortable taking. 300-600 yard shots. Lol.

 

If you went there, just put on a hard hat, reflective vest and act like you work there, take the plates and leave

 

Lambert's Cafe in my town has plates like that, I always ask my wife if she remembered to put the cordless drill in her purse.
