Was under my PreRunner today and noticed the boots on the steering rack both look a little damp. Fluid was slightly low, but not getting any drips or anything. Should I be worried or just keep an eye on things?

Keep an eye on it but it will likely just get worse. I had a similar issue and ended up replacing around 130k miles

Just keep an eye on it. My passenger side leaked a lot of fluid one day. Reservoir never dropped. Still can't figure that out. Anyway...still drove for about another 18 months before I swapped steering racks and lines to a new oem unit. Probably could've kept driving w/ the old one. Never noticed any issues.

Replacing the boots won't solve the root cause problem which is the seals in the rack starting to go bad. Based on your pics, I'd say you have plenty of time though. Just keep an eye on it.

I’m dealing with the same. My plan is just keep an eye on it and if it continues or gets worse, Lucas power steering leak stop. I’ve heard good things. If that doesn’t work then rack is getting replaced anyways
