Death Valley is pretty amazing, I’ve done it three times on my dirt bike, Ridgecrest to Beatty and back.
    It looks fun overlanding too.

Ridgecrest to Beatty and back on a dirt bike? That’s one hell of a ride. How long did it take?

The first time in 2018 it was supposed to be about 200 miles, some single track, fire road and road.....and it all depends who you go with and the route you take. I think we had about 7 hrs more or less in the seat. We’re all on dual sports not adventure bikes, I’m on a plated 2 stroke ktm 300.

One guy was on a borrowed un-prepped bike and had about 8 flats the entire ride. (all were instructed to have all new tires, chain etc). On the way home whenje has another flat three of us left the large group. We got into Beatty in the dark.

One year I had the wrong jetting and seized in badwater basin, about 103°.
Last March it was just 5 of us but we messed up and missed some sights, wanted to check out Dante’s view but someone made a wrong turn....not me!

It’s really amazing because you can cover ground pretty fast, even if there’s traffic. We’ve had to go around a long line of jeeps and also a big group on adventure bikes that were having issues in the soft sections.
I’ve been doing it with my plated two stroke ktm 300, my buddies we’re on ktm 350, 500 and wr450f....all have 3.5 gal tanks. I had to carry 2t oil.

Adventure bikes would be cool and you can more easily carry stuff if you wanted to camp. We hotelled it in Beatty.
Those bikes don’t look fun when it gets soft or mildly technical...obviously rider skill matters.

I’d like to do it with my taco, my suspension is still oem and I know the washboard sections can kill the shocks.
I’m fully skid plated, just need to install the diff skid.....front bumper is on order and looking at HC rears, then suspension....& broke!
