    It was, now it's not.

Sulu was out here complaining about it.

Funny thing, our last Governor, Linda Lingle seemed like the biggest dyke ever. Manly single business woman.

    Questions abound.

In 1895 a cache of weapons was "discovered" buried in the gardens of Lili'uokalani's Washington Place home. Upon discovery of the cache, Lili'uokalani was arrested. While under arrest she was forced to sign a document of absolute abdication, denying any claim to the throne for herself and any heirs or claimants for all time. In a humiliating military tribunal in her former throne room in Iolani Palace, she was convicted of her alleged knowledge of the attempted revolution, though she denied any knowledge of Hawaiian royalists to restore the monarchy. She was fined $5,000 dollars and sentenced to five years hard labor. The sentence to hard labor was commuted to confinement in one upstairs bedroom in Iolani Palace. Lili'uokalani was allowed one lady-in-waiting during the day, but no visitors.

Lili'uokalani was released from Iolani Palace confinement in September, 1896. The Queen remained under house arrest for five months at her private home, Washington Place. Then she was forbidden to leave Oahu for another 8 months before all restrictions were lifted.
Hawaii was annexed to the United States through a joint resolution of the U.S. Congress, signed into law by President McKinley on July 17, 1898.

It was enacted during the 9/11 insanity. US Code Title 6 states:

Subject to section 1318 of title 19, not later than December 31,
2007, all longitudinally sliced tubers, fried in oil or baked, shall, to the greatest extent possible, have names coined after the in the wholesome sentiments of our founding fathers. To the extent practicable, all advertising and posted bills shall not refer to any Franco sentiment in regards to tubers.

Then title 19 section 1318 goes on about the proper way to describe food items that are sliced thinly so as to appear stringy.

I really shouldn't even be talking to a foreigner about it. I could lose my freedom card.

And.. Don't get me started on americans and their misconceptions or straight ignorance on Liberty vs Freedom and whether they have either.

Am I turning into a libertarian? Sorry, I should ask that on the other thread.

Didn't freedom for US citizens end with the adopting of the Patriot Act ?

Think that might have been liberty. I have to check the dictionary again. I'm an american, though I can not prove it, because an ID card stating my nationality would be somehow "racist". Because apparently only white people are "american". And by american I mean "united states of american"

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Look up "WWII japanese internment camps" to learn more about free American citizens.

anyone that doesn't understand why japanese internment camps happened doesn't understand war time america or asian culture.

Not nice, and not probably necessary, but it was one bad story or another you were gunna get.

part of "remember pearl harbor" is, "remember the japanese immigrants that were spying for japan."
There's a lot more national identity among the culture as a whole. The few exposed collaborators scared everyone.
