Pretty sure it’s always a quart between the 2 dots.

WOW the things some people worry about. Run the truck it WILL be fine. MAYBE if it was a quart over I MIGHT consider draining some out.

I think it’s ok if I’m worried about it bro. It’s a new truck. No reason to cast shade.

also, it looks about 1/5 too far so that’s only about a third of a quart - prob no big

I am most likely a little older than most on this post and have worked on my own vehicles for decades. I will give credit to the op admitting he is not mechanically inclined, at least he is honest about it. I am also one of those who believes that the amount of "over fill" shown is not an issue. I was dicking around and not paying attention and put a little more oil in than normal, 6.2 quarts, and the stick looked like the op's. Drove it anyway, engine never grenaded. Over 70,000 on it still going strong. After oil and filter I fill with 6.1 quarts. I would recommend to the op though that he take the advice of those here and learn to take care of your own vehicle, especially if something like this gives you concern. Otherwise, you will drive yourself crazy trusting whether a mechanic did the job right.

Time is also an issue for me. But yeah - I’ll either learn or get over it. Thanks for the input everyone !

:D:D:DMan I love these threads. Don’t worry about the minute amount over the full mark. If engines were that easy to kill, it would be happening constantly. I’ve seen cars overfilled by twice the amount, like someone forgot to drain the oil first and added the full amount. No damage

It's one qt between the marks. Pretty standard on all vehicles. Transmission dipsticks can be a little different though

Whether it’s 1 or 1.6, I’m done worrying about it. Thanks everyone.

I do find the pattern of TW posts comical.

    1) freak out about theoretical problem
    2) post about it on TW
    3) get a mix of help and shit for posting
    4) shrug and move on
