I'd be more interested in rebuilding some shocks at your place unless you're secretly hiding some old school Geoff Rowley's I've been looking for

I've had my fill of new vehicles now, they're annoying and they beep a lot. I've gone back to considering an 80 or older GX and prices are coming down, but also we're apparently getting the Prado in '24 which... throws a curveball.

PS- How do you like dallying the 80 @Kwikvette

A little out of character for ME even, but listen to this.

Post on FB came up this morning (local, community pet page) and this lady was basically asking for a 'diagnosis' for her dog online...from random ass strangers. In her post she mentioned not being able to afford a vet bill which is why she hasn't gone in yet or at all.

Several people were giving their "remedies" whereas others were immediately on the whole "take it to the vet" and everything in between.

It really bothered me, a lot, that her pet was in that condition (and most likely in pain, she posted pics of dog paws) and I threw in there asking why doesn't she have pet insurance. Adding to that, she wouldn't go without health insurance for herself god forbid something happen to her, so why not do the same for her pet?

Of course, someone else responded about how it doesn't work that way...you still have to pay, etc. and that right there was someone who just never bothered to do their research, find out what sort of coverage they're paying for, and probably had a high deductible too.

In short, what we have for our pets is currently $100 deductible for any sort of vet visit.

A total coverage of $10,000 per calendar year per pet if the need arises.

A reducing deductible if no claims are made; forget how many years before it goes to $50 and then to $0.

That's amazing. Perfect example of really figuring out what can be covered. And would pay for itself in a single visit. Meanwhile her poor pup is suffering. I hope she calls her damn insurance company!

    Love it.

Feels solid, and feels like I can just drive through anything and anywhere.

Driving through snow feels like I turned on some cheat codes, and though the gas gauge goes down pretty damn quick, the sound of that inline 6 makes it worth it. Ask Zane, his sounds real nice.

Having replaced my steering damper, not to mention my coils and shocks not too long ago, it drives and tracks straight and true and is the smoothest solid axle vehicle I've driven and owned.

I've driven brand new Wranglers that already exhibited a slight death wobble that I've yet to feel in the LC.

@Wulf has driven it (with the worst steering damper ever) and @Speedytech7 has had his way longer than I've had mine so take it for what it's worth but you can ask them for their opinion as well!

No don't have them. But we can do some shocks for sure this summer. What are you planning on getting?

Oh no mine are still good

I should be like @JKO1998 and just buy everyone's shocks for cheap only to rebuild and resell them.

Thanks man, appreciate it. It's one truck I haven't had seat time in but it's a bucket list vehicle. My 1g is great, I'll always have a pickup around and not selling it, but I love wagon bodies for trips and around town, so I'm low-key starting to look for one in good shape. (My mpg is crappy as is and it's not my #1 priority at this point.) Plus I'm finally re-planning the pre-pandemic west coast trip that I had to can, and if I'm on the road for two months or more, I'd like to be comfortable and have no worries about where I point the truck, so that's extra motivation. Steering damper replacement sounds like a good idea. I hate to wade back into Mud land so I figured I'd bug you guys haha

That's really a good plan. Any off road parts you can buy cheap and rebuild you can turn a profit on. Shocks, lift parts and winches are what I'm thinking.
I got these camberg uppers for $100 last month. $125 for new uniballs and can sell for $600 ish

Gotta sell my old FR bed rack setup, I feel like it's gonna be a headache. I hate dealing with people.

Yeah Front Runner trays are all the same, I have one on my canopy too, it's just the mounting and sizes that are different.
