    I saw this gem parked outside a garage near my house on my way to work; I believe that it is a 1992-1995 since it has a Toyota symbol on the grill instead of block letters (unfortunately, Carfax still won't let me run license plates due to some glitch with the app :mad:). Anyway, not only did it appear to be rust-free, but it's a 5-speed!

    But would you leave it stock, or put a 3.4L in it?!?! Hell, since a lot of those FJ40 restomodded have Chevy V8s, I'd even consider that acceptable...

    My 4-banger Tacoma has 9 more horsepower and roughly the same torque as a 3.slow!

    It's less Tacoma and more mod
    It makes as much power as a 3RZ all while using more fuel and needing expensive repair more often than one. It is a rare total miss by Toyota. Can you fix it? Yes, but why bother it's still gutless and now you've spent more money on it. Swap a 3.4 or a 2.7 in and forget that trash heap. We put a Mercedes turbo diesel in place of one recently actually, fun swap.
