I'm just chiming in because I think this is a underappreciated mod for our trucks.

I like the Gar Fab material and the fit is perfect. To dpele's point, there are other options that DO add a bit of beef to the tailgate. You just need to decide what you want to accomplish. I love the HDPE, but opted for Aluminum that also turns the top edge into a usable 'weight bearing' edge. This was the deciding factor for me. Protects the gate and makes it such that you could use the edge- mtn bikes, carrying long objects - with less risk of damage than the plastic covers. Gives you a smooth surface for kneeling or placing items (mmmmmmmm- beer)on a single solid press brake formed piece of aluminum. beefy. Mine does add some material relative to the OEM plastic top, so if that will bother you, that's a thing.

Just wanted to throw it out there if that's what you're looking for. Both options make the tailgate more user friendly. Mine is from @RelentlessFab

Do they sell that cap for that tailgate separate or is that all one peice? Mine is cracked and I should replace it at some point. I have a Mountainhatch which has been great but it doesn't replace the cap over the top of the tailgate.

I run it. I also run the Mobtown tailgate panel. I have them both on the tailgate. I routinely am in and out of the bed, on the tailgate, using it to hold mulch, rounds of wood, etc.

Does it make it godlike in strength? no idea. Does it make my 290lb ass feel better when I stand on the tailgate in the dead center while lifting heavy shit? Absolutely it does.

The beauty of the Relentless Fab panel is it's one single piece of metal, formed in a press brake.

this isn't the greatest pic, but you get the idea. This is beefy. Would take a LOT to make it flex or fail. I'm two years in with lots of use and abuse, I even have fork trucks load and unload the back. Scuffs yes, malformation, no.

edit to add: i missed your point @Northbound_Taco but @elricfate got you....

I've been wanting to change out my old seats and had figured i'd go Corbeau or PCP or similar...

Replaced the lower shock bolts with these beefs from 303 Shock Services. The step down on the factory bolt has been known to crack shock spacers over time due to play

My mini had black leather seats with white piping they were pretty nice. The 50th anniversary minis came with like baseball glove leather. Was amazing. I can understand why if the quality is high enough but definitely interesting to see them in a Tacoma.

What is the manufacture date of those? I thought they only make those for UTVs now.

I saw a set of those on craigslist once and it stated not DOT approved for street use. Guess they are fine for a spare off-road set.

I went to finish wiring in my new back up camera today, and broke a pin off inside a wire connector. So I ordered some electronics tweezers on Amazon, and now I wait. I'd rather not re-wire the whole connector. Oddly enough, the front wiring harness for the camera (from Camera Source) and the mirror-radio conversion harness both say to wire into the 16-pin slot on the back of the head unit. I called their tech support, and they sounded surprised to hear this. I said it seems to make sense to only use the conversion harness, and they agreed, but who knows? I don't even have a mirror with back-up display to begin with. Have to get the pin out first anyways.

There are so many choices on seats and with buying them online I have no idea when I buy if I will really like them. My wife has a Mini. The seats are comfortable. I decided to buy something I already know. There were some challenges in getting them installed but I'm happy with them.
