    when I first saw this video something bothered me about it.

    the shark and the eagle mascots are obviously conflicting national metaphors, the ostentatious poor playing of competitive dodgeball is a clear comparison to the futility of international conflict, and the odd cultural under-representation of the women's team.

    then it struck me, none of that mattered.

    so what was bothering me?

    the sportscasters. it was the two guys in headsets playing sports commentators.

    they're wearing David Clark H10-series aviation headsets.

    why aviation headsets? unless they're operating aircraft they don't need those.
    they're expensive, and unless they're broadcasting via air-band VHF to their fans they're overkill.

    at any rate, I sleep better now
