Got the fat bike on some steeper, chunky stuff for the first time this past weekend. Prior, the fatty only saw tame trails. Today, I ordered a dropper for the fat bike after almost going over the bars on a steep, rocky bit. Sold it to my wife as a piece of safety equipment for the bike!

    Are you to battery power?

I have an AXS dropper I use on 3 different bikes.

All the bikes that I rode most frequently are on full AXS now. As a bike hack/wrench, I don’t know why I would ever wanna run cables again.

With the sale cost of the AXS system lately, I have had a trigger finger on the buy it now button. Would love to get one of the cables out of the way, and the ease of index adjustments seems to be a huge benefit. However it solves a problem that doesn't really exist for me at the moment, and one good smack on rock (yay New England tech), it is a bit of an expensive repair.

As the topic of bike storage recently came back to life... here's my incognito setup. Had to cant the axle clamps to get the bikes to sit vertical, since I angled them for handlebar clearance. Any better solutions out there?
Why the hell does anyone buy a truck with a shortbed?
Tray rack goes back on when camping and the bed is full.

Canting the fork clamp is the solution. Rocky Mounts actually makes a van track that does exactly what you did there for the same purpose.

Oh, and my short bed is almost 7’ long :anonymous:

Now that you pointed out the Wrangler door vs the Gladiator, I cant unsee it. Alas I still have a soft spot for them.

On another note, we sent some pics to proscloset to see what they could do on my GF's Chisel, as they have been a little low in the past but convenient. They are overstocked and said the best they could do is $600 store credit. Thats gonna be a no from me, but I can understand after looking at their inventory.

Picked up a Necky Switch (surfing playboat). One of my friends is learning to paddle and I only had my Creek boat to go run class 3 with him, now I can surf every wave while chasing him down the river.3357380A-1A2B-4EE9-9CA6-D301AD44DBC4.jpg

Finally all set up for our first NICA trainer session tonight. My favorite part is my new free$ road bike with a repurposed group and a little elbow grease. Oh, and the disco balls and party lights…I like those too.0C5FB3A9-33CD-45FA-A2D1-3EAC7D148F01.jpgD35BB540-9AA5-4CA2-AB80-DAA38917E588.jpg

    not enough.
haha! Sorry. It's definitely one of the design quirks for me. surprised it's not brought up more.

yeah, things are falling prettttty fast. Although, new bikes on some brands have technically gone UP in prices but I bet you the stores are giving massive discounts to move the inventory and at leas tmake some money.

Mods are currently being changed .....

Don't miss out on doing a road ride up Mt. Lemmon. Great views. Great climb. Probably spot some pros. I saw a few last winter when I was out there for the winter.

No Maah Daah 100 / 75 / 50 or whatever? I'm thinking about doing it b/c it's the weekend after RAGBRAI and I'm doing that again for it's 50th anniversary.

Still holding out on this. Fact is cost for everything went up the last few years and I don't think it's sustainable. Only problem is if all these same prices come down it usually means a nasty recession.
