To access anything worth seeing you'll need a ticket. The start/finish and short course area along with the vendor booths, the pits and all the food and bathrooms will be behind checkpoints that require a ticket. It's worth the $50 for sure.

 

If you’re mainly interested in watching the race out in the desert and the nighttime shenanigans at choco or backdoor, you dont really need a ticket. Theres plenty of good spectating points outside of the paid area. That said, just watching the sublime & Pennywise concerts last year made the whole ticket way worth it IMO

 

Absolutely! I enjoy paying the entry, due to ultra4 being all about giving back to the community and the racers not like score and their shitty prices.

Fellaz, I’ll be arriving Friday afternoon with the wife and the kiddo, plan to camp(bringing wood, ground tent and all my goods) anyway, I got vhf. Shoot a frequency to be in contact and crack sole cold ones.

 

When I get there I will update this thread with photos & coordinates of my campsite.

 

I'll be there the 8th-11th. Trying to wrap up a project on the truck but it should be done by this weekend. Still trying to figure out who/where we are staying or if we are bringing our trailer or not. We should definitely organize a meet at some point. Maybe some late night festivities.

 

When are you going to be up there?

Im trying to secure the dates. I'm a solid maybe at the moment. Trying to make it for more than a weekend. What are the best days to be there? Early on or later in the week? Silly questions, as I'm a newbie to KOH.

 

The line to get in on Friday will be long. I usually go on Wednesday so I can pick a campsite before the weekend crowd gets there and buy my t-shirt before they sell out of XL. Thursday night at backdoor is fun as long as you don't have young children with you. I always go watch the UTV race on Thursday, the EMC on Friday, the big race on Saturday and the concert.

 

The racing happens at the end of the week but so does the shit show. All depends on what you're going for. There is a desert race on the 4th if that's more your style but the big races will happen on 9th-11th. It will be very crowded and lots of dust. Also very cold. It's a great time.

I agree with @10YSON though. Getting there earlier in the week will allow you to find a decent camp spot. The nighttime festivities happen every evening if you're into that kind of thing.

 

I’ll be there the 4th to 13th helping pit and chase for my buddy in his 4800 car. Go #1776!!! Somehow bought a car with the best number ever.
