Question i know this tune alters the throttle input like a pedal commander or any of those devices. Does it change depending on speed? Only reason i ask is i have a pedal commander knock off which helps but say there is 5 levels 1-5. Around town or at low speeds 1-2 is perfect but at highway speeds would be nice at a 3-4 but that would be too aggressive at low speed I am waiting for vf to update 2021 2.7 and will be going the ott route just curious how the throttle adjusts with a tune

This is nothing like the worthless (in my opinion) Pedal Commander and clones.

Way more than just throttle input is tuned. Fuel. Advance. Ignition. The magic behind the OTT is secret, but it's not just a glorified remap of the throttle input. The automatic transmission shift points, pressures and more can and are tuned as well.

4th to 5th shift flare getting fixed is low key one of the best things about the tune

At this time - We have control over the throttle input by gear, relative to pedal position.

The software allows us to specifically alter the amount of throttle body opening relative to how far the pedal is depressed by each gear in the Auto trucks.

The Manual trucks give us this same capability but also allow us to modify the throttle also by Pedal position and RPM.

I can't go into specifics of how we do it, but we've got a tract record for of bringing high quality calibrations to each and every platform we support. I can assure you that you'll find something to your liking, and if you're looking for something truly special and specific to your own needs we are more than happy to develop something one-off for you to ensure you get exactly what you're looking for as long as within the capability of the ECU itself.

Given what you shared with us, I think we can certainly accommodate your needs.

Send us an email to info@overlandtailor.com or reach out to one of our authorized remote tuners and lets get some discussion started so we can get a game plan put together.

So looking at your location map for someone to do the tune in S.California. There is only one person in CA to do the tune?

We are in the process of bringing someone on that is based out of Paso Robels, CA. Just waiting on him to get setup and get his hardware/software. Shouldn't be terribly long.

In the mean time, we can send a remote tuning kit if you'd like to flash yourself. This would give you the ability to flash the tunes yourself. If that's something your interested in shoot us an email and we'll get you setup.

I’d rather drive the extra 2 hours north to Paso Robles than drive anywhere near Orange County, nothing wrong with OC just can’t handle the freeways heading out there. Hopefully your guy is up and running by March

I got my tune done in DFW, back in October( Not sure which version of the tune). For reference, I'm in a 2018 DCLB, with Eibach Pro Truck 2.0 w/ 2" rear blocks, running 265/75r16's.

I was originally running Medium/Spicy. Drove it for a few days, and it was overly sensitive. I met back up with my tuner and went with Mild/Medium. I've been driving it for 3 months now. And the throttle response is still extremely touchy/jerky, when wanting to accelerate lightly at low speeds.

But I'm afraid that Lite/Mild won't give me a benefit over stock tune, but the jerkiness at low speeds is pretty annoying. I'd like to get with my tuner anyways, to get updated to OTT 9.0.

    Anyone have any input?

    Ryan,

When you schedule a meet-up with your tuner, please give Lite/Mild a try. If you find that's still too much for you, we'll be on standby to make a custom file for you to get it to your liking. In the end, we'll make it right for you.

Thanks i know a tune offers more than just throttle input adjustment was just curious how it handled it, another question is there an option when switching to S mode right now if im in 6th and enter S mode it automatically drops to 4th would be nice when switching to S mode it keeps it in the same gear that youre in

I appreciate the quick response. I'd like to clarify that I am not unhappy in any way. Just the throttle response on Mild, is just a but touchy. I've already talked with my local tuner, and him and I are going to get together in the next week or so.

I gave it a good 3 month try, and in like parking lot or apartment complex low speed driving, or starting from a stop, I feel like Im putting next to no pressure on the pedal, and it jerks forward. Instead of having a gradual increase in throttle, if feels like an On/Off switch.

Never considered myself a "Lite" kind of driver, but maybe I am.

    @Saxonthebeach

I went from Med/Mild to Lite/Mild with Gear Lock (OTT 8.0) on Sept 18, 2022 and have enjoyed it so far!

Med/Mild was a bit touchy but then again, when I asked for it...I was gunning the gas pedal not thinking about slow take-offs. lol

So now, I engage ECT (Gear Lock Enabled) & Drive for quick response--upshift happens quickly. I have to remember to turn ECT off when exiting hwy.

ECT is best used with S-mode at cruising speed to essentially force the truck into 6th gear with TC locked up.
