They've been around for a while I get the feeling that they're a consignment house. Everything that goes there gets the cleanup treatment from them but I noticed they all have regular plates on them still. No dealer plates and the plates aren't removed.

That's crazy I wonder if they actually sell for that. You can pick up 4Runners all day long around here for less than 5 grand in good condition. Like I said seven maybe 10K for a really nice one.

 

For that price you can have a way nicer Land Cruiser.

 

That’s about going price for a nice one here too. Tacomas and pickups are just a different game.

My friend bought his 5 speed manual 99 4Runner in California and drove it here because he couldn’t find a clean manual. $9K so a bit high for 180K miles, but it was early 2022.

Hard to justify having a GX and an LC all things considered.

 

That's a good project right there. Those wheels make me feel some kinda way, I really like them but I don't like them on anything I own, but I'd want to own something they look good on ya know? Also that's an easy problem to solve, ditch the GX.

 

Speaking of vehicles for sale, I do know of a 1998 4runner MANUAL coming to market soon. Had a coworker ask me about how much it's worth. If anyone's in the market....

Ha. No can do. Love the power of the 2UZ too much along with the luxury. It's comfortable as all fuck and I have to drive a lot for work. It's also got a set of Blizzaks and is essentially a fucking snow tank.

It would definitely be the first gen that goes as I don't really ever drive it.

 

I'll never understand any of the love for the UZ. I thought you had a later GX with the UR, which I would get, but never been a fan of the style of the GX. Something about once Lexus gets their hands on em, the styling just doesn't work for me anymore. A LC Prado maybe though

 

I don't think I've ever seen a Tacoma quite that color before. I guess it's Evergreen Pearl, perhaps with odd lighting or postprocessing?

 

Evergreen Pearl can range from almost blue looking to deep green depending on the lighting. In a lot of pictures my old truck looks blue

 

Agreed. I just love the power of a V8. Styling isn't the best, but I've been slowly converting everything to metal (bumpers, sliders, roof rack). Lexus does make shit over the top, head unit combined with HVAC controls come to mind. Not saying that the GX is better than other motor/chassis combo's, but I like it for what it is. Comfortable with enough power.

 

Agree. There was a GX on Carsandbids recently that someone had Prado swapped some parts, looked better imo
