I've seen that ad before, sometime last year I think. I'm sure it's been posted multiple times. It's a beauty, but I can't imagine what asking price is. Plus, if I were in the market for something like that, it would have to be completely stock, ALL OEM parts, nothing aftermarket. I would want it in it's most original form (with maintenance upkeep of course)

Seriously though. I get it, those things are rare and hold their value, but come on. Let's be realistic here. Or am I the insane one?

I'm thinking about contacting them just to see what asking price is. I wish I was in the market but not on my salary.

I agree mostly but those volks look damn good to me.

Oh they most certainly do. I don't disagree one bit. I would just want a clean slate. I love having a modified vehicle and probably will modify every vehicle I own in my lifetime in some way. But on the other hand, I'd love to have an all original of something, like a 3rd gen 4Runner or LC80. Just to enjoy the simplicity of it. Like new shocks, springs, steering components, everything you can imagine. Just to get that original feel of what it felt like the day it drove off the lot. I don't know I have some sort of weird infatuation with that sort of thing I guess, lol.

    Greetings everyone!

Raw material selection is a big driver of the overall cost, not all high carbon steels are the same. Manufacturing techniques also affect costs.

JDM 80 series. It looks nice in the pics but I'm wondering if it's just a click bait/spam ad.

While they were 20% off I decided to buy a set. The Eibach were not in stock so I went with Kings. Otherwise I probably wouldnt even get a set.

Now to find a washer with a 2.75” inner diameter or a metal shop that can make me a set. Or buy two 1/4 top hat taco lean spacers and use them

if they don’t work out for me and my wife does not kill me for “rebuying” something for my truck, I’ll sell them for what I paid, in case someone might need some 650# King coils.

Wheelers already sent me an email the springs shipped. Now to decide the spring perch.

Anyone here have kings? It looks like the springs don’t sit fully on the perch, there is a little spring that over hangs. Can anyone confirm? The pictures I see look like it.

If that’s the case, I might just get a poly isolator and put it on top on the 2 lock nuts, similar to what other coils overs look like.

any other thoughts or suggestions? I think I can find 1/8” washers or the taco lean spacers that’ll fit over the body too

this is about the overhang I’m expecting. Just need to decide where to set the lock nuts for preload.

Damn, was it that much? I know WV has all that personal property tax stuff.

Didn't cost me much at all to transfer my stuff in PA when I moved back from MS. Didn't even have to pay sales tax again.

The tags and reg were maybe $220, insurance was substantially cheaper for the truck, and both inspections were $30 total. So all in all, waaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than Maryland.

The thing you’re thinking of, is waved for the first year for new transfers. Meaning, I wont owe personal property taxes on either vehicle until 2024.

Thanks  she’s Maggie the Meat Head

Wife & I are switching our licenses & vehicles over from MD to WV this Friday. BIG price drop for my auto insurance. Yearly inspections has me pissed tho, but no more emissions testing.

Our county never had emissions but thats something I refuse to put up with :anonymous:

i am SHOCKED you haven't done it yet. Literally the first thing I did was went and bought another Glock. AS IF ANYONE HERE WOULD BE SURPRISED

word on the street is, there is legislation going into the system to propose the removal of annual inspections in wv and make it more like maryland’s one and done system

If the LC won't pass the inspection, I know a guy that will take it off of your hands.

WV inspections aren't terrible. Probably half the guys in my department are from WV and nobody complains about it. As long as you don't go to a chain type place they aren't that picky. Lights, tires, and wipers. My one good co-worker has got a guy in Martinsburg if you want me to ask him when I go back to work tomorrow.

At least they're not picky like the yearly inspections here in PA. Ironically no emissions testing in my county, so if you got a guy that can sticker slap a car you're golden. Came in handy when I had that rusty Talon with no catalytic.

    I mean, what :anonymous:

Typically pay sales tax if you purchased at a rate less than where you purchased. That’s assuming the vehicle is newly purchased. If it’s been in your name for a bit, you shouldn’t be paying sales tax.
One time inspection is ridiculous. Just get rid of it at that point. Had to get my 1 year old truck inspected. Might as well just add on a tax at that point.
Yeah, you’re talking to him :D
Nothing to fail! Slap some fancy flashlights on the front for lighting.

Kind of negating my above point, but I’ve seen some “questionable” vehicles on the road. You should see the stuff they drive in Oregon. Makes you wonder if inspections are actually a good idea lol

Yea. We should do that. We should also get rid of registration. We have the right to travel freely on public roads.
