See, I got a lot of mixed reviews from people yesterday. Technically my truck needed a “modified” inspection because of the larger tires and 2.5” lift, plus the tires stick out past the flares….however, the guy I took it to said “looks fine to me son, here’s your sticker.”

Then I asked about the bike in the bed and I was told that most people dont even worry about it in WV on motorcycles. So I went to another guy and he said absolutely do not inspect the bike, nobody will bother you. Then I went to a third place and asked them about it and they said since I just transferred, I should at least get the first inspection so i’ve done everything right, but after that it can be renewed at your leisure because they’re supposed to only give you a warning for it now because WV is working on eliminating the annual inspection racket all together. So I paid my $14 and got the bike inspected. Never started it or took it out of the bed of the truck. They looked at it for less than 30seconds.

But then you cant daily drive it, haul or tow with it. So i’ve always just done the normal tags so i dont have to worry about being stopped

Just get it done when you’re up this way. Nobody in pawpaw, ridgeley, wiley ford, fort ashby, romney or keyser is going to fail any of your vehicles on inspections.

The DMV in Keyser is super nice and no appointment necessary. I literally went there 3 times in one day and never had to wait a minute.

When I went to turn in my maryland tags yesterday, there were 20 giant signs that said “APPOINTMENT ONLY” and they gave me shit until they realized all I was doing was returning my tags

Sounds right… I shouldn’t need to go back to the MVA till my kid needs to get his learners permit in 5 years… unless we move out of MD but I don’t see that happening yet

Yes, I loathe the idea of there being an inspection sticker on my windshield and the fact that it has to be scraped off and replaced once a year, but I was able to get it mounted low enough that it doesnt bother me. Plus the “modified” sticker is huge. Its twice the size of a regular one and that I do not agree with because it takes up even more space on the windshield. You can see my inspection sticker in this photo:

    13145B98-0DB3-4F38-91BD-EBFC87B34271.jpg

I also LOVE not having a front plate, but I will never forgive Maryland for the damage their license plate did to my front bumper over the years

Putting out a feeler…Would any of you guys or gals be interested in buying my sliders?

I haven’t had time to take them off the truck, so I didn’t post an official for sale thread yet but they will be coming off the truck sometime this week.

They are SOS off-road sliders (bolt on). I bought them used, but they are in very good condition and haven’t touched a single rock since I put them on my truck (part of why I’m selling). I’m asking $800 and will drive a decent distance to drop off.

Pic of them on my truck:

Seeing this picture and yellow fog lights reminds me the crap they gave me for having a license plate cover that you can still see the tag fine. Dude strait up took it off. I was trying to keep it local since I just moved to the town. Yup, next inspection when I needed one for the Subaru it went back to my old place. I had LED light bulbs (a mistake) and yellow fog light bulbs, along with license plate cover on my old 2nd gen that still passed. I could hear the advisor when they were doing a light check "well that's not legal" but all the mechanics thought it was cool. Got my sticker that day

Thats crazy. Small town people for the win on that one!

I heard from someone that my yellow LED fog bulbs and yellow housing covers wouldn’t be WV legal but the guy never batted an eye. He only asked “do all the lights work.” :anonymous:
