How many people do you plan on riding with? If I remember right that's the main differentiator between the 1x/2x/4x and then you have their conventional link line and their higher end mesh link line, plus the option for the "JBL" bigger speakers variants of each.

I have the packtalk slim, attached the back piece to the helmet with Velcro as my HJC I90 is built for the sena crap, been really happy with it but I did replace the speakers with in-ear monitors, a little less outside noise and I don’t have to have the volume maxed to hear things.

I haven’t used it very much for the intercom capability, my dad bought the cheapest helmet with integrated Bluetooth and it connects and we can talk but if he’s more than 8-10 car lengths away it loses connection (I’m assuming because of his unit), but for listening to music and phone calls it’s a good unit. I would’ve gone for the standard pack talk bold but the slim was on sale so after various discounts and sales I paid about 260 instead of 330.
If you’re a GovX member you can get better pricing.

Well, that takes the cake for the wildest thing I've seen today. When that things running right he should be looping it at half throttle in every gear. Also lol'ed when he tried to say MNNTHBX at the end.

Finally got around to figuring up my riding stats for 2022. They might look pretty high to some folks but for me they're a little disappointing and I need to work on them.

Total days ridden in 2022 was 195. More than 50% but a far cry from my "perfect year" of 2018.
Mileage: Buell = 238 miles should have been more but front fork seal blew out in September and I haven't gotten to fix it yet.
Honda = 337 miles. Mostly to a couple of shows. Brought home 1 first place trophy so I'm happy with that
Yamaha = 15,445 miles. Not bad but most standards but far from my best year.
    Total mileage = 16,020. For comparison in 2019 I rode over 24,000.
States ridden in: PA, MD, DE, NJ, NY, VA, WV, NC, SC, GA, FL. Used 1 train and 1 ferry
Iron Butt rides: Lighthouse Insanity Challenge visiting 66 lighthouses in 5 months. Bronze level Mile Eater certificate for having over 5 certified rides with 2 of insanity level
Maintenance: 3 oil and filter changes, 1 pair of tires mounted and balanced. Those tires are due for replacement soon with about 12k on them. Michelin PR4GT.

Got to ride with @FreshOldTaco for his first brief ride back after his accident!

How do you track days ridden?

I don't. Never done one but would sort of like to. Issue is what bike to use for it. The Honda is an antique and not really appropriate. The Buell is too damned hard to find parts for if it goes down. The Yamaha FJR1300 is a bit "portly" for the task. Guess I need another bike.....or two.

I think he means how are you keeping tally of all your rides and miles and such. Do you maintain a log book? I’m assuming maybe so for the iron butt rides and all.

My system is really simple. At work I have a day planner for tracking incoming materials and meetings, etc. I just use a highlighter to mark off the days I rode in there. I guess it really isn't "ironclad evidence" but I'd really only be cheating myself. For tracking maintenance I have an erasable whiteboard on a cabinet in my garage with columns for each of our vehicles. I write down my mileage at the end of the year for each of the bikes just to keep track of how much riding I did and track repairs on there for everything. I have an Excel spreadsheet on my laptop for more precise tracking of all the vehicles.

Nice stats Chuck that’s a good amount of seat time.

And getting back on the motorcycle that day was the highlight of my year.
