    That was an awesome day!

My only fear was your wife thinking the whole thing was my idea and wanting to kick my ass! Need to come back over and revisit that Lambo dealer once I hit Mega Millions......

Awesome and at T120 not the T100. I really like the blue and white color combo!

Yeah I guess the blue n white is kinda rare hear, at least for now. But the color combo reminds me of vintage bonavilles.

Looks awesome! I'm a huge fan of the classic look in a modern bike and I'm super interested to try one out some day (my eyes are locked on a Kawi Z900RS).

Lol I wouldn't do that to you! I know better, we talked it through at least a week before. She does crossfit at the gym I'm not trying to get my ass kicked either haha

And yeah that place always has me rubber necking with the line up of supercars out front. The new showroom they were working on up the street is open now too.

Hopefully we can plan a ride or two this year. I need to get used to the new bike first.

Does anyone in here have yootoobers they watch for bike info, gear, or just for kicks?

There are a few I enjoy for different reasons.

Fortnine used to be all gear reviews, and I liked those because it was a different style and Ryan is a smart ass. It has since evolved into some really well done entertaining vids that would be akin to motorcycle articles back when magazines were more than shills trying to sell stuff. There's some good info, great breakdowns on regs/laws/ratings, tips and tricks, and some unique takes on things too. Here's an informative one with a silly premise that may save somebody some headache. Bonus points because he drives a Tundra. :)

    https://youtu.be/doSDfIo61r0

I watch a lot of Dork in the Road's stuff too. Stumbled on him when looking for the CB500X because he did a video on his brother's bike. Below is a better video than the first one he did on it, because it's more than just riding it home. Bonus points because he also drives a Tundra.
I have since followed his stuff because he is also of a heavier disposition and not super tall, though taller than I am, so I feel that he gives me the better idea of how stuff will work for me vs watching somebody tall/skinny/fit like Spurgeon, Zack, or Ari from High Side Low Side/Revzilla.

    https://youtu.be/uV1wcRfWgRU

Obviously, Itchy Boots' season 3 where she rode her CB500X named Ronin around northern Europe was a fun one, but that's more for inspiration than learning the bike or tips. She does have some good gear tips, but I mostly watched for her trip experiences and bubbly personality.

There are others that I've seen, some with and without CB500X content, but just didn't click for me for various reasons. Any you'd recommend to a total noob with a pitiful amount of experience on nothing but a VTX 1300 for a couple summers, and only slow riding at that? Any newbie riders that have bike channels?

Jakethegardensnake is one I enjoy. He has a nice mix of riding and wrenching. He's done some cool things with his project bikes. Lately he's been doing a crf300, so if dirtbikes aren't your thing might not be that interesting. Seems like a guy I'd want to sit around a fire and drink beer with. https://www.youtube.com/@TheGardenSnake

c90adventures is good for a laugh but he puts out videos like once ever six months: https://www.youtube.com/@c90adventures

motonosity used to put out some high quality content but kind of fell off the map about six months ago. His build series are good, daily rides or whatever get rambly and can be skipped: https://www.youtube.com/@motonosity

Chaseontwowheels I watched for a loooong time but now I can't really stand him. Occasionally I'll pop in if a build video catches my interest. He went way overboard with the clickbait titles and is pretty whiney, but some of his older wrecked bike rebuild series are pretty cool. I also just don't think he's a very good rider.... he's great at a lot of other things, does good camera work, exposition, whatever, but just sometimes talks out of his ass and says dumb stuff. YMMV, broad range of content though: https://www.youtube.com/@chaseontwowheels

Kinga, onherbike, is a pretty interesting follow, she's been going around the world for years now on an F800GS (same bike I ride, so near and dear to my heart hah). It's pure travel stuff though, so if that doesn't interest you you might not like: https://www.youtube.com/@onherbike

There's this guy Spencer that does cool stuff with a Navi he's about to sell, sometimes with a ct90 or F800, too :anonymous: https://www.youtube.com/@SpencerDesmarais

I think that's most of the moto content I subscribe to/follow. None of them are really noob focused, but they're all good general content. If you're looking like how-to videos I'd lean towards that motojitsu guy (who can be annoying and if you don't practice you're going to hell and whatnot but has solid advice), Brett Tkaks for ADV stuff (wears a weird hat all the time, again, annoying but 98% solid advice), I hate to say it but yammynoob has some good noob content years and years ago before he pissed off the internet (if you watch him don't tell anyone).

Edit: rockymountainATV has a few fun bike series. Mostly cheap bike challenges. Bikesandbeards (or something like that?) is also popular, sometimes does cool stuff.

IMO, I would skip Skyline Drive. I've done it twice now, most recently in 2021 with my g/f along as she'd never been there. Speed limits are 35 for the entire length, heavily patrolled and enforced, and limited to no passing zones to get around slow moving traffic. You also have to pay to get on as it passes through a park so that doesn't help. It's a nice, low speed, scenic route which is cool but not really a good road for bikes to get out and play.

Tail of the Dragon is fun but all the hype and publicity has made it crowded. I've done it several times starting back in 2004 when it wasn't so well publicized and I can tell you it's just exploded in popularity and in traffic. Weekends are a bitch unless you want to arrive at the ass crack of dawn while everyone else is still sleeping off their hangovers. It is a road everybody should visit once but make sure you go on a weekday morning so you can enjoy it and not just ride a parade lap with everyone else.

Blue Ridge Parkway is awesome. Lots of fun sections, long enough that police are generally scattered so you can play. Cherohala Skyway is a great ride. Lots of elevation changes, long sweepers where you can just hold the throttle open and power through, great scenery. Back of the Dragon in VA from Marion to Tazwell is a great road. Over 30 miles long and looking like you just stepped into Jurassic Park with all of the kudzu growing on both sides of the road. Route 421, the Snake, in TN is a fun ride. It's another 30+ mile road with more turns than you can count. Nowhere near the popularity and publicity of the others. Highly technical in sections last time I was on it I had to pull off and take a break as my forearms were getting pumped from the workout.

That’s a helpful summary, I’d definitely want to ride on a weekday to avoid heavy traffic. Need to put some more thought into a trip like that. Also had to look up kudzu wow that stuff swallows anything it grows on.
