Just got a white SR, and I can't stand to look at a black front bumper. Love everything else about the truck, though.

Will normal white Rustoleum paint match, or should I go to a parts store and get that Toyota white spray paint?

Highly doubt rustoleum white would match. Plus isn't that bumper heavy textured vs other trim level trucks smooth?

the black bumper cover scratches easily. got tons of scratches from offroading and little tiny plants rubbing it. it might be a better idea to buy a whole new cover and paint it that way. they are cheap!

Oh, that's gotta be a quality part...lol plus appears to be wrong as well. If you want it painted. Remove it and take it in. Have painted correctly and reinstall.

There used to be a place called Certifit that sold cheap plastic bumper covers. We called them Sortafit. A lot of those panels off Rock Auto are similar, even the ones which are CAPA certified. I bought a bumper and lower valence for my old 93 from there and they weren't even close in terms of fit (despite being CAPA certified).

Don't forget that when you're painting a bumper since it's a flexible part there has to be provisions made in the makeup of the paint to allow for flex. Standard touch-up paint in a can will lack those flexible agent and your bumper finish will crack over time.

well, if i'm gonna be $200-300 in a bumper from Toyota and another $200-300 to get it painted, i might as well go ahead and get an offroad bumper for no reason at all.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
White truck needs a white bumper. Post a pic when it’s done!

More $700+ from Toyota. Just have your existing bumper painted. Like I mentioned, remove it yourself take it in. That will save $$$...

Been thinking about getting mine painted white to match as well. On the other end, I replaced the white bumper end caps with black and it looks more like a real bumper.

Painter here. I would take it off, disassemble it and take it to a good body shop. They’re raw plastic and need cleaned/prepped a certain way.

I would also avoid CAPA or any aftermarket plastic cover at all cost. They’re junk.

Have you thought about just wrapping it? I’ve seen people do this with the chrome rear bumper.
