Dealer is asking $18k. Truck is from upstate NY, I live in MASS so salt will be a perpetual issue.

Good pictures....and very smart to post them here before you took out your checkbook. Cross this one off your list and post pics again when you find another one ;)

Jeebus! Imagine having to work on that! Each and every fastener is seized, and the axle housing is going to start leaking any minute now

Real question is, how many are left. And the answer: not many, not many at all

    What year?

I think it's risky but make sure before going further that it's up to date on the frame issues.

Me being from up North that dont look too bad. What year and millage? Looks like mainly surface rust. Any perforations? Can you poke at some of the spots to see if the corrosion runs deep enough to be a real concern. If no holes and lower millage it might be an ok value.

I don’t think it’s that bad, looks mainly to be surface rust, check mainly around the cross…imo.

I think if you talk down the price, with a little bit work you can make the undercarriage look good and make it last for a long time. Just as long as the frame is solid. :)

although i dont think it looks all that bad, the fact is you will have a lot of work to keep it not that bad. Do you want to buy a truck and then rectify the rust, because leaving it as is isnt an option?

The dealer said the rust was cosmetic. The dealer runs the house.
