I really can`t see how unless it was wrapped in plastic and you just never looked close.

That was a Good Laugh about like all my cooking attempts unless a Microwave works!

    Re: poll
I don’t have time to watch sports or any tv. But I do make time once a year for the Super Bowl.

My co-workers son plays in the NFL and is the leading tackler this season. So there is a ton of football talk every day. I’m soo lost. Lol.

I hate sports, I love to watch my son play basketball and soccer when he puts forth effort, but I’ll pass watching any of it on tv and go to the garage/outside and find something to do.

Shipping weight says it's 0.5 pounds. Probably not an XBox. :pout:

On the subject of shipping, I just had some green curry paste delivered and the container is cracked. Fired up Amazon and they say it's not returnable. Might not be returnable but it better be refundable.

Regarding the poll, as more and more former NDSU players are going into the NFL, I've stopped watching most of them now. There were starting to be too many games recorded that never got watched.

Was watching modern marvels with Cole earlier and they had trucks on there. Never thought about who invented the diesel engine, until they said it.

    @RustyGreen

Rudolf Diesel, Inventor of the Diesel Engine

They also told how Mack got the bulldog name.

And also about Clessie Cummins, the Cummins diesel man.

It’s weird to me that Amazon says something can’t be returned. They told my wife that recently, she got a refund though. Good luck with yours

Sorry to disappoint fellers - the only diesels I know about (in passing) are 2 stroke Detroits. :notsure: I learned about those because:
    1) they are loud (some parts of the kid never grow up)
    2) they were used in the 50's-60's GM busses which I had an unhealthy interest in at one time. Unhealthy enough I came very close to buying one.

This is 35 feet long, 9 feet high and weighs close to 30,000 pounds...

Somewhere around here I have a book on Clessie Cummins, I misplaced it before I read it... :anonymous:

I do have a 3-53 Detroit down at the garage in some corner...

that close to the road, i can't believe the motometer hasn't been stolen! i've never seen one in real life!

i'm starting to note a shift in the climate for college-- college keeps getting more and more expensive, with more prerequisites/time, and really big companies are starting to drop college requirements for positions. i'm starting to see some more public questioning about the 'worth' of a collegiate education. that statement from "The Incredibles" rings there: "if everyone is super, than no one is!" if everyone's got a college degree, and is still fighting for $15/hr starbucks jobs, than no one's got a college degree...

i like doing things, always hated school, mostly the slow structure of it. i always ended up reading 4 chapters ahead of the class, so i'd end up 'lost' when the teacher called on me for the current chapter. but give me a shop full of tools, and i'm happy making crazy-stupid stuff that suits whatever need i've got at the time. i'd rather learn doing it than reading about it.

i mostly taught myself electronics by pulling stuff out of the garbage, taking it home, and taking it apart, and sometimes building new things out of the parts.

but i mostly keep to myself about it. my neighbor is very much into woodworking, he was a fireman/general contractor for about 20 years, so he's handy with just about everything. he's always offered to help where he can with all my random projects i've got going on, but i almost never take him up on any of it. not for any specific reason, outside my own stubbornness of course, but most of all, i just like figuring the stuff out myself.

next time you're near that kids house, stop by and just ask about the truck, sometimes someone showing interest is all that's needed.

    +1

i know a rather large family that did exactly that-- some of the older guy's in their maintenance shop have told me the story more than a couple times. the dad started the business with not much more than a shovel and a wheel barrow. then he got a truck, a tractor, then 2. then 3. the parent's passed away a few years ago now (kids sold the house for $4 million), but the business is ran by the 4 brothers who aren't afraid to still grab a shovel when they need to, and services 3 rather large counties. and it all started with nothing more than a shovel and some motivation.
