My buddy just upgraded from your exact DT Swiss setup to my old Hunt Carbon wheels on his GG smash. He borrowed my wheels for a few weeks before buying them from me, so he had plenty of time to do a direct head to head comparison. He's also a big dude (~200lbs) and a very fast/powerful rider who breaks parts on a regular basis. He is super happy with the Hunt wheels overall for their stiffness/responsiveness and ride characteristics; weight differences were minimal/unnoticeable.

I am definitely seeing lower prices on PB and CL. The real crash is E-MTB, $9 bikes at $5K,

I saw it on CL in my area, thought it looked odd. Not sure if it is road or MTB...

I don't mind running cables or housing especially when it's proper tube-in-tube design where the housing will come out the other end guaranteed. SO much easier to work on.

Any Rapha pant/short owners here? I think I’m in between sizing on the small/medium pants and unsure on how they fit as well as length.

I have a ton of their road stuff and am very comfy in their Medium size (5'10" 170lbs ever so slightly chubby). I do have one of their MTB tech tshirts in Medium and the fit is ok. Large would be too big. Medium is a bit small but still comfy.

Worth it, I switched from aluminum.to carbon on my gravel bike and could feel the rotational difference immediately.

So much stoke, maybe even all the stoke! :yay:

Just made my ‘14 Kona Rove tubeless… don’t know why I was intimidated about the process for so long, it’s definitely not rocket surgery! It took less than 45 minutes even with reading some sealant volume instructions and a valve stem/tire label orientation issue. My winter riding season is shaping up to be fit for MTB season! :benchpress:

Kinda funny how so many people in this thread don't even drive tacomas anymore lol

I've got a whole rental fleet to sell...FML

Fo sho, was inevitable. The van we bought has been a steady project...I see the value is buying a factory-built Revel now. Fixing other people's projects is annoying but I'm sure people feel the same way about stuff I've sold unfinished too...

I hope to buy a used Revel in the future. I wasn't willing to pay what they were asking for new or used the past couple of years.

I could see the idea of buying prebuilt better bc of different loan availability, insurance coverage is less questionable I imagine if in a total loss situation, and less build interior headaches.
However you are still driving an emission and gremlin riddled MB diesel so buy an extended warranty.

Dude they're badass. I can almost justify the cost. But I've ran the ROI cash flows a few times and can't make them work unless sub $75k. Renters tend to break shit all the time too so there are steady expenses outside of only servicing the loan

A few things to unpack here:
    • Loan availability is a non-issue regardless if you shop around and get a little creative. Money is/was cheap (not so sure now with the interest rates) but somebody is always looking to loan out money if you look hard enough. For example, there are competitive personal loans out there, open an entity and business case for commercial loan access, or get two loans (one for the van and one for the contents). A little creativity goes a long way. Ours should be paid off next month :)
    • Insurance coverage sounds questionable but its not. Again, there are a gazillion insurance companies that are willing to take your money. Since I rent mine out there is special cheap insurance from Roamly (sister company with Outdoorsy). No reason you couldn't just get this insurance anyways even without renting
    • Mechanically this sprinter has been excellent much to my surprise. The biggest issues a few years ago around the DEF system have been resolved with a recall and subsequent class action lawsuit. Perform the recall and receive a $3000 check from MB - not kidding
      • Speaking of, I'm really enjoying DIESEL POWA BABY. This thing actually holds cruise control speed unlike my Tacoma
      • My biggest grips are the lack of accessibility in the living quarters. Wood and insulation everywhere make it a pain in the ass to take things apart
