I loved the 2 sets of BFG's I've had, they didn't have a 33x10 and their price is just too much for my uses :D

    From AlabamaWX

RADAR CHECK: Showers and thunderstorms are forming across Mississippi just before daybreak ahead of a cold front. Storms will enter West Alabama shortly, then progressing through the rest of the state during the day.

SPC has defined an “enhanced risk” (level 3/5) of severe thunderstorms for parts of Central and East Alabama, including places like Birmingham, Gadsden, Anniston, Montgomery, Clanton, Alexander City, Opelika, and Troy. A “slight risk” (level 2/5) covers much of the rest of the state.

THREATS: The primary threat will come from strong, potentially damaging straight line winds. Heavier thunderstorms could also produce hail, and a couple of brief, isolated tornadoes can’t be ruled out.

GRADIENT WIND: Today will be a windy day, and a wind advisory has been issued for all 67 Alabama counties. Gradient winds (not related to thunderstorms) could gust to 40 mph in spots.

RAIN: Rain amounts will be generally around 1/2 inch, with isolated amounts to one inch. Flooding is not expected.

Be sure you can hear severe weather warnings today if they are needed (never rely on a siren!!!), and be ready to take action if you are in a polygon.

SNOW FLAKES? Much colder air will roll into the state tonight, and as an upper trough passes overhead we could see a few snow flurries tomorrow over the northern half of the state. If we do see any snow flakes, there won’t be any impact or accumulation. Otherwise, tomorrow will feature a mix of sun and clouds with a high in the 40s over North Alabama, with 50s to the south.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Look for sunny cool days and clear cold nights. Morning lows will be in the 20s over the northern half of the state… highs will be in the 46-54 degree range Saturday, followed by 50s and 60s Saturday.

NEXT WEEK: The weather will be active; the first round of showers and storms will come Monday night into Tuesday morning. More rain is likely Wednesday night into Thursday; a few strong storms could be involved with that system. Highs will be in the 60s through most of the week; some places could reach the low 70s by mid-week. See the daily Weather Briefing video for maps, graphics, and more details.

ON THIS DATE IN 1888: Children’s or Schoolhouse Blizzard occurred on this day. The blizzard killed 235 people, many of whom were children on their way home from school, across the Northern Plains.

ON THIS DATE IN 1985: A record snowstorm struck portions of western and south-central Texas. All snowfall records dating back to 1885 were easily broken. Austin measured 3.6 inches, and Del Rio received 8.6 inches. San Antonio saw a record-setting 13.5 inches from this event.

Haha yes probably. The last time it really snowed here was 2019... or maybe 18. I can't remember exactly. I do remember about 3 inches or so here at the house and the roads were completely impassable for a day or two.

I’ve had several sets on my truck. Wasn’t impressed with Toyo’s. BFG KO2’s were good with no issues whatever. Was going to replace with BFG’s price is ridiculous now so did General Grabber AT2’s. Really like them and saved a few hundred. New truck has Nitto Grappler’s. Jury still out on them. More than likely will flip them to the black truck and put the General on the new.

Terrible day of weather yesterday. The tornado that affected Selma actually made it all the way south of Atlanta into Conyers. Not something you normally see with squall line storms. Just goes to show when the NWS puts out risk areas to pay attention. Unfortunately 6 people are dead with the search still underway.

    From AlabamaWX

SHARPLY COLDER: Much colder air will roll into Alabama with a brisk north wind; temperatures will hold in the 40s over the northern half of the state, with low to mid 50s for the southern counties. As a deep, cold core upper trough passes overhead, a few sprinkles or snow flurries are possible… but no impact or accumulation is expected. Morning clouds will give way to intervals of sunshine this afternoon. Then, tonight, with a clear sky temperatures will fall well below freezing… most places will be in the 20s early tomorrow morning.

The weekend will feature sunny cool days and clear cold nights. The high tomorrow will range from the mid 40s across the Tennessee Valley to the mid 50s near the coast. Highs Sunday will be in the 50s and 60s after another sub-freezing start.

NEXT WEEK: The day Monday will be dry, but showers move into the state Monday night and Tuesday ahead of a surface front. The front will stall out across Central Alabama Tuesday, and a few waves of low pressure will roll along the front, keeping the weather unsettled for much of the week. Expect periods of rain Wednesday and Thursday with some thunder possible. At this point it looks like there will be very little surface based instability, meaning no significant chance of severe storms through the week. The weather should trend drier by Thursday night and Friday, and the week looks fairly mild with highs in the 65-72 degree range. See the daily Weather Briefing video for maps, graphics, and more details.

THURSDAY’S STORMS: Yesterday’s system clearly overperformed in terms of the number of tornadoes… it looks like we have tornado damage in at least a dozen counties… Winston, Lawrence, Morgan, Sumter, Greene, Hale, Dallas, Autauga, Elmore, Coosa, Tallapoosa, and Chambers. It will take several days for the NWS to complete their survey work.

ON THIS DATE IN 1862: Known as the Great Flood of 1862, a series of storms from December 1861 to January 1862 produced the largest flood in the recorded history of Oregon, Nevada, and California. Estimated property damage in California alone was $10 million in 1862 dollars. More than 200,000 head of cattle lost their lives. The State of California went bankrupt, and the economy evolved from ranching to farm-based.

ON THIS DATE IN 1982: After a period of very cold weather with single digit temperatures, a winter storm brought some snow, but mostly freezing rain to the state. The precipitation arrived about 8 hours earlier than anticipated in the Birmingham area and quickly changed over to a mix of freezing rain and sleet that turned roads in skating rinks. Thousands of motorists had to abandon their vehicles on roads and hike home or spend the night in shelters. Brookwood Village mall became a huge shelter. So many wrecks occurred that the Birmingham Police Department could not answer the calls for accident investigation.

As temperatures hovered near the freezing mark through the night, freezing rain created a thick coating on all exposed objects. Trees snapped, pulling down power lines and putting as many as 750,000 Alabamians in the dark. A state of emergency was declared in Alabama and National Guard Armories were opened to serve as shelters. Some people had no power for weeks, timber damage in the state was extensive. Twenty Alabamians were dead and another 300 injured and damage totaled $78 million because of the 1982 winter storm.
