Thank for the understanding and support. If you end up ordering bumpers certainly add in the tailgate panel- it won't add any cost to shipping the bumper crate :)
Happy to hear you're so happy with the panel and the justification of the upgrade. I'd certainly agree. I originally added the panel to my own 2nd gen around 2008-ish when i bent the tailgate shortly after buying the truck, while using it as a truck. A replacement tailgate was around $1k at the time, the panel was enough however to stiffen the damaged tailgate and bring it 90% back to original shape and appearance and held up for years more use before I finally sold the truck.

Sorry you have to sell. I’d have a hard time letting that go. Wish I could be the one. That is perfect.

Early TRD sports had oem smoked headlights. I'd run these but put better bulbs in them.

I poked around on the 3D Printer thread and came across @kylesburrell saying he would print them. I hit him up and he sent me it

I had a hard time buying expensive OEM smoked housings instead of getting something fancier looking. I was in the same position as you, but my OEM housings were so cracked they spread like yours.
I had a lengthy conversation with @crashnburn80 about all the options out there. I do lots of highway driving so I wanted to make sure I had great output. If you drive in the city and wheel now and then, maybe the fancy lights will work for you. But if you need good lighting, go OEM and do the ultimate upgrade.

I have a hard time dropping 500 on light housing right now, last semester of college, maybe after that.

If you don't appreciate your 2nd gen Tacoma, and long for the high tech amenities of newer vehicles, then this will make you want to give the ole Taco an extra hug or pat on the back today.
Not what I did "to" my Taco but what I did "to get back to driving" my Taco. Spent the last week chasing down a programming/electronic issue on my spare Ford grocery getter suv with under 70k miles. Changed the car battery, jumpered the battery cables to drain system, installed new 12v battery, reset the Battery Monitor System and then none of my OEM key fobs worked. Both worked great before. No lock, unlock, keyless entry, touch lock handles, remote start or keyless start worked. The Ford fob sel-programming failed several times. Had to put the fob in a special spot to start it. Ran great but "no key detected" would not go away. I loved the keyless start on my 3rg gen Taco but, after these issues, I appreciate my old 2nd gen Taco steel ignition key. After replacing both fob batteries, checking the entire system, replacing the $55 rf receiver/antenna unit, with everything else showing ok with no obd2 codes, I thought it was going to the locksmith or Ford for $$$. As a last hope I broke out the old laptop and connected my ForScan obd software (that supposedly expired NOV 2022). I ran the diagnostics and self tests, found and cleared some codes, and finally got my oem key fobs programmed in. What a pain in the ass this task has been. Only took 30 minutes to install my sons head unit last weekend in his Taco. Only took a couple of hours to upgrade my Taco coils and struts. Been wrenching since the 9th grade (around 50 years) and damn I hate new style electronics. King of the road when it all works. At least I saved a few bucks.
Is anyone in the market for a fancy, high tech, pretty Ford suv with low miles and every available option. I can hook you up. IT'S FOR SALE !!
    Hugged my Taco today.

I know what you mean! My girlfriends '13 Escape is such a POS! I don't know why but every time SHE starts it (never when I do) It throws 2 CEL's I have replaced 3 parts that should have been the issue with the CEL but no permeant fix so far. Not to mention everything in the engine bay is a pain in the ass to get to. Coolant reservoir is under the fire wall which makes it near impossible to fill, Battery is in the second fire wall which requires removal of both window wiper motors to replace, and the oil filter is behind 3 coolant lines for the turbo running all over the place and makes it real difficult to get it off and cant get a wrench on it. I CAN NOT WAIT to sell it in a 2 months! The engineers at ford need to be slapped for they way they did everything on that car.

Boo! Sorry that happened. It’s a shame the driver who hit your truck didn’t leave a note under your windshield wiper or something. No integrity.

If they were I'd say you got a little lucky! Could have been a lot worse! Glad no one was hurt but that still sucks. Hopefully that:itllbuffout:
