Assuming I keep the factory tire size of 245/75/16, am I risking rubbing changing to a -6 offset?

Hey all! Curious what your guys input is on this… I drive a 2023 SR 4x4.

I am looking to get rid of the hideous steelies that came with the truck. The wheels im looking at are 16x8 with a -6mm offset. I am also looking at a 16x8 0mm offset wheel.

I do not want to deal with rubbing/ rubbing correction as I have a warranty and the less I touch the truck the better. My understanding is the steelies are a +30 offset… Assuming I keep the factory tire size of 245/75/16, am I risking rubbing changing to a -6 offset? Essentially keeping all dimensions the same as factory besides the offset and the wheel width (7in —> 8in) thanks guys! any input is greatly appreciated!

With a 245 tire and -6 offset you will be fine if that’s your first choice of wheel. 0 offset is probably the easiest down the road if you want to run 255 85 16 or 285 75 16 tires.

You know to make sure the wheels you buy are hub centric? Tacomas use that system.

Fog lights, Vision Turbine 16x8 wheels, Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrain 265/75/r16 AT's, janky LEDs that probably won't catch on fire
You can buy hub centric rings to address this with wheels that aren't hub centric. That's what I did. Go with a solid retailer like @Discount Tire and they'll make sure you get properly set up. I didn't know about this issue until I ordered wheels (not hub centric) and tires from them and they educated me about it (via a pleasant human phone call which was great) to make sure I was all set with the rings I needed. No problems since purchase and install.

Edit to say, I also recommend the zero offset rims (they look plenty poke-ey to me) and you may as well go up to 265/75/16s. They'll only rub if you install mud flaps, and only then with certain types of flaps and in very specific situations.

Yep! the wheels im looking at are the KMC terra. they have a hub bore of 106.10 which from my understanding is in line with what the tacoma needs. correct me if i'm wrong… Thanks dude!

Your right, I copied this from a SCS wheels post
Our wheels and as well as TRD wheels have a 106.1mm Center bore for a true hubcentric fitment.
Once you get the new wheels on post up a update pic
