I wouldn't tell a soul outside of close friends and family if I won a big jackpot (100s of millions), shit would get crazy quick. Although I think in some states it's made public if you win? in that case some of that money would go toward a new identity for me

I think I'd be fine if any distant family or old acquaintances knew I won. I'd still ignore 'em.

I bought some mega million tickets, but all the states around utah rarely win so it's meh.

Cali people seem to win quite a bit though.

You said the last big winner was sold near you I thought

I remember reading that so many winners end up broke.
I'd be the most boring lotto winner. New vehicle, pay off bills, buy a house I can actually afford, maybe a trip (well, lotsa trips) then savings and investments into misc stuff.

It'll feel to good to finish it too. Money alone can't buy that feeling.

yeah I've heard that too. For the million dollar or thereabouts winners I can definitely see that. The 2 Billion winner took the lump sum payout of like 955 million, but even with 955 million if you manage to go broke from that in one lifetime....that would be impressively outrageous

Biggest problem I have with the lottery is the amount of money that the IRS takes. Each one of those big payouts is an easy 400 million for the IRS...

I mean the whole point of the lottery is to make money for government agencies. Otherwise private lotteries would be legal
