    It’s around $50-100 here.

They wanted $1000 to do my field after a decade of uncontrolled growth. That had a major impact on the decision to buy my tractor. I looked into renting a skid steer to do it myself, that was going to cost me about $2K for machine big enough to do the brush work I needed done. Plus road grading work to be done. That was for a weeks rental, but as I figured I’d need to do that at least twice a year. Though $25K was a big investment, I figured it was worth the money to buy my own equipment. Given all the road, field, and yard maintenance it does. It took me 11 hours to clear my field out the first time.

That looks like it’s setup to run a blade in the middle.

Yeah I did out some numbers first as well. I have a B series Kubota but that’s not big enough for this job. Renting a big forestry skid and the mulcher was hard to find and would be at least 2k or more plus my time and let’s be honest, who knows if I’ll do a halfway decent job. Cost to buy skid and attachment was astronomical and seems to be a niche market meaning I can’t buy and sell quickly. Although I’d love to own all the big machines, I have access to a smaller skid steer and a small excavator all the time so the scenario that made the most sense to me was hire this job out. Hoping this is a case where the property wasn’t well maintained before us and if I can reset the clock and have a fresh start, a little maintenance can go a long way and I’m not having this job done again anytime soon!

Yeah, you get it cleared out and regular maintenance should not be an issue for you. What took me 11 hours the first time, is down to about 3 hours, 3 times a year. But that first time I didn’t really know what the property looked like. The brush was taller than the tractor through out most of the field.

They used to bring good money around here, most people would restore them and take them to shows.

I seen that in a YT review video, and thought it was a great idea. But the cross tube on my loader is to small.

Im in the same boat, my loader isn’t ideal for this. Love the idea though. I need to figure out some more storage for mine

if you have a quick hitch, Kens bolt on hooks makes a universal chain box that attaches to the QH side support.

I’ve thought about putting a 50 cal ammo box on side of the loader arm, or making a basket to mount on the back of the ROPS. Currently chains usually get stacked on the floor, or wrapped around the loader arms.

    Why not?

The equipment isn't gonna notice that little bit of extra weight in the off season.

My dad used to carry a chain on the floorboard of his J.D. 1020.....until I was using it one day and the chain fell off, the hook grabbed the brake line (it has hydraulic brakes like a vehicle, the line is on the side of the trans). After I fixed that, he didn't put one there anymore.

I’ve had them fall off to be run over by tires. So that’s when I started wrapping them around the loader arms. My next addition will the receiver hitch and hooks on top of the bucket. After that I’ll work on a chain storage box solution.

These ready made ones from HF are handy to put a hitch on a tractor quick.
    $33 & $25.

I went with the one off Amazon. I already had the hooks from a trailer project. I want the hooks as much as the hitch to make it easier to cut firewood.

I'm concerned about the cold welds.

Please always remain out of the line of fire when doing some serious pulling.

I hope I'm wrong, but I had to say something.
