Ok … sounds like a good plan..I’ve heard truck drivers curse more than mechanics… is that true?

If you can get into the county full time, that could be a good gig but on the whole driving truck can be a lonely life, (for lack of better words)

It all depends on how things work out. I'm also trying to get into the electricians union. If that happens I'll go do that. All the guys at the HD like me so if I ever need a job I bet they'd re hire me in a heart beat! Just letting everything work itself out:)
I'm not really planning on doing OTR though

IBEW would be a great job start, get your journey man card and look for a good gig, not so much union.
My buddy worked his way into an onsite elect. at a factory, he makes like 37hr does 8 and goes home.

Not even OTR but most comp want you in the truck by 5 or 6 and then you don't get back until 5 or 6, doesn't leave much time for a personnel life,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, is why I say it's a lonely life.
