No rain or wind today. I can actually see the sun and blue sky. First time this year no rain or high winds. I’m not sure how to handle this. What should I do? Just looked at the weekly weather forecast, rain starting tomorrow and for several days. Back to normal, thank goodness.
Nice lure Mike. I think that would be a killer lure for striper out here. I troll lures a lot but have never made any. I tie flys but haven’t done that for a couple years. Might get back into it.
Happy Thursday all (or what ever day you think it is).

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch pals & Sue! Well, I had to wait until almost noon for burn off and some nice sky yesterday. Sorry, not doing ugly yard work if I'm not enjoying some sun! Today, high winds out of the North, and all that Hill Country Cedar is blowing in, so day off. Might take the dog and go to Green Guy Recycling.

As is my luck, Little Big Red is "famous" for the wrong reasons. Compared to virtually every Toyota of that vintage, and other second gen Tacos, my "ALT-S" fuse is BACKWARD compared to everything else. Not mentioned anywhere, and only the second one the guy has seen - also a 2007. Pic of the diode I currently have, showing the .7 voltage drop polarity. My 12V buss in the box is in the INSIDE, which means it pointed outside the box. New one "special for me" will be here Saturday. The ad on eBay now contains a note about 2007 Tacomas, and will soon also feature my voltmeter! I'm famous!

Good morning all, It's been some time since I posted here. In catching up I see there have been some health concerns. I hope those of you with them are moving forward and improving. For me, I finally caught COVID and so did my wife and kids families. We are over that now but it wasn't fun. I have a niece who has a severely handicapped child that wasn't suppose to live more than 2 years. She is on her 6th year but is in critical condition in the ICU under an induced coma. Even at home she lives on monitoring equipment. Her little lungs and heart are just about done. We are expecting this to be her last battle but are prepared for it. She is comfortable though.

Yesterday was also the 2nd anniversary of the death of my nephew. He took his life after dealing with depression, alcohol, and drugs. He had amazing support from his family, friends, and professionals but it he still couldn't deal with life. God only knows what frame of mind someone is in to do something like that. He was a popular kid in high-school but I guess has secret demons. I can't judge him because I don't know what he was going through. We all went to his grave last night to remember him. Life is hard for all of us sometimes.

I love retirement and even like the side hustle I'm doing for a friend who remodels homes. I work about 20 hours a week doing light electrical, plumbing, and finishing work. While I really don't "need" the extra $$$ it does add to my government pension income. Last week when I wasn't working I finally attacked the low heat in the truck cabin. I was able to circulate some stong aluminum safe cleaner through the heater core for 10 minutes or so. After 3 years of lack-luster heat when below 20 degrees outside at idle I solved it. It now cooks that cabin even on high fan stopped at a light.

I hope you all are doing well and enjoying life. Do something nice for yourself and others today.

Sorry Bryan for all your adversity. Hopefully 2023 will be a good year for you. Many years ago my best friend and my nephew committed suicide. Both had drug/alcohol problems, both were super intelligent and wonderful people. I’ve never gotten over it, never will, never will forget. Hope you have a happy and good new year.

No problemo - just don't overdo the opening - snapped right back down with original fasteners. Installed about 6 years ago now. Local 100º ambient heat might have been the salvation.........

Yea I think that’s the trick. Heat to take the stress off. Seen plenty like a pretzel up here..

@knayrb Bryan: Sorry the pain for your family continues. Good news that the C19 battle was won. This time of the year is so hard for persons with depression. The best you can do for them is call and invite them out to lunch or take lunch over to them. Be a good listener.

Good morning. Off to the gym this morning then back to apply a second coat of the stain waterproofing on the bench slats. I will probably assemble the bench on Saturday. Today I am cooking a bacon wrapped, and injected pork tenderloin for dinner. The tenderloin is in a pork brine already. i hope the rain stops sometime today so I can use the smoker. Still raining but it is supposed to stop around 9am. Happy Friday and remember to do your errands today, the weekend is upon us.
