I've never golfed before but have watched on television a few times. It's pretty awesome scenery on some of the courses and then there's the occasional mulligan you see a pro hit into sand trap or water:rofl:
Get all bent out of shape:D

The little bowling I’ve seen on tv, I don’t see how they do it so good. I guess it’s their talent

You want to sticker your wood so that both sides of the wood are getting air flow. Basically any small thin strip of wood would suffice for your stickers. I've used scrap wood, ground stakes, and plastic tent pegs to separate the slabs of wood while they dried. Hell, you could cut a PVC pipe in half lengthwise and bisect it every 6 or 12 inches depending on how wide your boards are. Additionally, you paint the end grain of the wood to prevent checking. The end grain looses moisture faster than face grain so that moisture differential would cause the boards to split and crack at the ends. Think of woodgrain as a bundle of straws, moisture flows out quicker from the ends. You want to slow down that loss while equalizing moisture loss across all faces of the board. Get yourself an inexpensive contact moisture meter and check the moisture content before using the boards, you'll want to check multiple places on the board. Generally the lower the number the better, I shoot for at a minimum 7% moisture content. Others say the 5-10% content works too but you kinda need to think about where the boards will live, what environment. Higher humidity affects wood more than lower humidity. I don't really want to turn this into a lesson since I can ramble on and on about this topic. Bottom-line: You want airflow across all sides of the boards evenly while preventing rapid loss through the end grain.

At my grandma's funeral I was talking to a bunch of 2nd cousins that I hadn't seen in ages, apparently they are all into golf. I casually mentioned that a golf course is just a waste of a good shooting range.

Cool, thanks again. Didn't know it was called stickering, but I had done it. :D I'll paint the ends and see about a meter. IMG_20230113_085018.jpg

I've seen that movie several times. I had forgotten about that skit.
