Wildpeak’s have great wet traction but wear so fast. I got less than 35K on 265/75/16 before the cupping was so bad I couldn’t drive in the hwy

See, I feel like that was my exact experience with my duratracs and they were worn by 30k miles.

And i have the opposite experience with the wildpeaks. I had over 60k on them before I gave them away so someone who needed tires and they weren't worn out yet.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Duratracs don’t do so well with sidewall strikes. Replaced 3 on 1 wheelin trip

Tires have been acquired! Found a killer deal on Facebook for some Yokohama Geolander ATs in 315/70/17 for $1000. Couldn't pass it up, so I guess we'll see how they do. Thank you everyone for your inputs and advice!

Well I about lost my cool…or rather I think I lost my cool. First time I was asked not to come back to a dealer ship (Fred Anderson Toyota of Asheville) lol

The service advisor couldn’t take my criticism and I had no filter today. Poor guy looked like he was gonna cry…and I was enjoying every second of it :)

Edit - pissed me off so bad Intold him I was gonna snip his nuts so that he was the end of the line for his misfortunate genetic fuck up.

I'd like to learn about this. What's the benefits? I have 285, stock gears, sliders and a front bumper with a winch. I do put my camper shell on and off. Other than that I don't have any daily drive weight. My camping weight is just pretty light totes and a cooler.

I know it has already been settled, but hands down the General Grabber ATX.

I put Grabber AT2 (precursor to ATX) on my wife's Sorento before we sold it. They were so good in all conditions that I put them on her 4Runner TEP, and 2 sets on my Tacoma. I'd have put a 3rd set on the Taco but they didn't offer them in that size. Now I have the Geolandar AT G013.

The Geolandar is nice and quiet and has really good traction. Only "complaint" is that they LOOK more like a highway tire and less of an AT.

Technically, the first 4 sets of Generals that I've had were all the AT2 variety, but it's the same tire....just a different sidewall design. I now have the ATX on our Expedition.

The General tire is made in America, has a 60k warranty, severe snow service rated, does well in the mud, snow, rock, etc., is not loud, and is generally one of the more affordable options. I can't say enough good about them.

Geolandar is a solid choice too.
