    @Torspd
Sir, I’m all ears if you can point me in the right direction!?
Engine is; 2006 5.3L aluminum L33 w/ VIN code B (added some go faster mods) :D
Trans is; New old stock Tremec GM TKO-500 w/ 1.125 w/ 26 spline input shaft. (Hopefully picked up correct shifter) :fingerscrossed:
Purchased; Aluminum Bell Housing from Silver Sport Transmission w/ 6.5” depth.
Purchased; Billet 22lbs Ram flat 126t Flywheel. Both can be returned if need be. I’m AM ALL EARS!! If you have a suggestion/s!! Yes I’m still looking, I’ve only found one I’m considering. It’s a duel disk from Summit (private label) rated at… well tab on the link.

    https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-700901

I would love to do the same to a Mustang owner without mufflers, as there are so many around these parts, I guess they think removing mufflers makes you faster. :notsure:
Maybe I should have went with a bigger cam?

Good looking clutch to me. Just need to measure everything for your TOB clearance. In case you need a regular TOB or an adjustable TOB. My Twin disk is a custom order McLeod Racing twin disk, BTW.

Yes it’s nice but a bit heavy @ 50.5 lbs total but the clutch disc are smaller in diameter.
This clutch thing is driving me nuts. :help: :goingcrazy:
    I just ordered the Ram 22 lbs flat flywheel. So 50.5 subtract 22 = 28.5lbs. That’s a damn heavy clutch & PP…
But again the twin disc is not 12” in diameter.
Then there’s the internal hydro throw out they run anywhere from a little over $100 to over $500..

Hey dude do you get "transmission drag" from your really thick fluid? I tend to get a slight, 2" gentle lurch forward when I start the truck cold, off the brake and the trans is in neutral. Not sure if I should be worried about that.

in my 6 speed, yes i do have this same exact issue. I can start the truck with the clutch pushed in, and if the brake is off when i release it and its in neutral, i also have some "drag" like you described, where it tries to ease forward some on its own. I dont think you have anything to worry about. The 5spd hated the heavier fluid and didnt want to go into first at a stop, so i swapped it back to 80w90. The 6spd likes the really heavy stuff though and i dont have problems getting into gear like i did with the 5spd

Nice. I noticed the stiffness moving the shifter too when it was -25/30C out this year, I have about 30% heavy shit now. Still went into gear fine though. I was expecting it to be worse. Going to 50% stabilizer 50% heavy soon.

Just looked back and last time i changed the Trans fluid, i used 1.5qts Lucas heavy oil stabilizer & 1qt Lucas 85w-140. You could probably get away with less stabilizer up where you're at since its much cooler. Mine hasnt grinded in a long long time though, i dont even remember the last time, so the stabilizer is working well for my uses.

    Just curious,
You should know, does Toyota use Brass Sinkcro’s (God I hope I spelled that right)
If they absolutely don’t use GL-5‼️ Ask me how I know…

I use Lucas non synthetic in my trans. It is good for GL-4 or GL-5 I believe. There are a bunch of other specs it meets too, but I forget those. Before this, I used redline MT-90 in my 6spd and I was not impressed. I blame that for the start of all my issues because the fluid would get super hot after driving 30 mins or so. After switching to Lucas and adding stabilizer it improved quite a bit. I appreciate the heads up though brother! How’s the LS swap coming along? Little taco under the knife yet or still collecting parts?

You got it! Still buying parts… Goes to the installer in El Centro Cali. hopefully on the 21st of this month.
Here’s my baby, she’s waiting on a few gaskets and she’s a crossbreed a 06 Silverado L33, 06 TrailblazerSS (not pictured) and 04 Vette. If there’s room I’m going to purchase CNC brackets to move the alternator below the power steering. Then I can use the 160 Amp truck alternator. Any contributors if I start a Go Fund Me?
Otherwise I might be sleeping with two in my signature.

Which car did the front accessory drive come off of? And are you planning on keeping the tacoma rack?

Just based on my research from a while back, i am fairly sure the toyota rack and GM pump operate at different pressures. There have been people that adapt them and make them work though. I think Munkeywrench kept his stock tacoma rack, so i was just curious more than anything.

    Hmmm…
@tacotunner06 and @munkeywrench never mention any issues with the power steering. Hopefully one or both can chime in.
I know I’m installing an PS / transmission magnetic oil filter like the one on our old superchargers and a small oil cooler.

Thanks so much‼️ So hopefully I shouldn’t have any issues on a 100% street truck with 235/45-19 or I may go to a 255/45-18’s on an 8.5” wheel if the rear 245/45-19’s won’t hold. I’m going to a 275/45-18’s on the rear with a 9.5” wheel. No clutch drops just if I nail it once moving. Oh, here’s the clutch I ended up buying, and yes it’s over kill but I read review after review saying how “Drivable“ it is. Plus the price difference was $113 more than piecing a flywheel & clutch together! And by the looks of it I got it just in time…

So Robert are you ready to join us yet? I know your new turbo kicks @$$ over that old URD thing but I’m guessing the torque of an LS would walk all over the 2TR.

Looks like a good clutch to me. Drivability should be nice with the stock looking discs.

Actually i have started leaning back towards a built 2TR like Torspd mentioned. I dont want to deal with the wiring nightmare of an LS swap, and if i did it, i would need everything to work like factory, which sounds like a PITA. if i could swap in a built 2TR and run 20-25lbs of boost, i think it could hang with an LS. I guess there's only one way to find out though lol.
This is what i'm thinking. Built engine, big injectors, Haltech, and throw in all the springs in the wastegate

    Robert,
What makes you think I don’t want the reliability and creature comforts I have now? I want PS, AC, ALL the gauges working correctly and I drive more with my finger than my w/ my foot so I want & need cruise control. The first thing I added and installed in both the 2007 & 2005 base reg. cabs with a bench seat & nothing but AC & PS was the cruise.

You know I ❤️ and respect you but remember the clutch issues you were having before?
Also how’s the saying go? “There’s no replacement for displacement.” Plus it’s easy to get 500 HP from an V8!

I hate GM vehicles but they make a small powerful engine. I purchased my one and only GM vehicle new right out of High School a loaded 79 Z28 and didn’t need a cosigner because of the down payment and my income. Not bad for a kid out of high school. I started right out of high school the best paying I’ve ever had, working for Superlite Block. It was a union company but here in AZ they were non union and paid over California union scale to keep the union out. I worked the late shift as I was the one guy who kept the steam ovens clean. Cinder blocks are nothing but mortar and cinder. The machines that form blocks vibrate the mixture on to steel plates then racked and driven into a steam oven to dry. Let’s say this in AZ in the summer at midnight it can still be a 110 out. I would come out of a 160 degree plus steam oven to cool off in a 105 plus weather. I went from 195 lbs to 145 lbs in less than 2 months I could eat as much food and ice cream or anything and still couldn’t keep weight on, I love the job. It was the hardest job I ever worked but I had fun as the bosses were really cool and my coworkers were great. So just out of high school making bank I purchase the new Z28. It was absolutely beautiful and the biggest POS I have ever owned! Here’s a fact, dear old dad was a auto body man and painter but his specialty was pulling and straightening frames back when most vehicles had frames and sub frames. He would straighten frames that you think there’s absolutely no way it’s going to be within specs. Now my father wasn’t much of a father but that bastard could straighten a frame like nobody’s business! The POS Z28 I purchased brand new was 7/8” shorter on the driver side than the passenger side and that was just one of the many issues it had! My father had to get a vehicle or frame with in a 1/4” of an inch of being perfectly square to be in spec. He would get vehicles within an 1/8” or he would take a torch to the frame and cut it in half and tell the shop manager order a new frame. His boss would say what’s F***ing wrong with you, you had it within spec! My old man would say F*** You my name on this job and I’m doing it right or I’m not, fire me if you want! Word spread about dad and many times I would answer our phone after school and it would be a body shop asking for dad.
Anyway as I was repeatedly taking the Z28 in for warranty work my father went in with me one time. He said he would volunteer to pull the car out if they would let him. The owner of the Chevy dealership knew my father as he had been trying to recruit my dad to work in their Body Shop. GM refused to let my dad to try to fix it. They said it would void any warranty. While waiting for GM to make a decision on the car it was stolen and taken for a joy ride and found at a bottom of a ravine then set on fire. The Sheriffs department told my dad that they had no idea how who ever took the car got it that far out into the desert without getting it stuck before ending up where they found it. Mesa police called and told my father that they thought I did it. Dad told me to go to the police station and tell them to give me a polygraph. So I went in and asked for some detective. He came out and I told him who I was and that I wanted to take a lie detector test. He walked me into the room and said are you ready and told him sure let’s get this over. He then said you can go no need for this I will contact the insurance company. I then looked at him and F*** You either let’s do this or you write me a letter of apology. He told me to watch it young man, I said you think I’m a thief then you tell me leave you owe me an apology. God I was pissed and it’s stupid how I can remember this but where in the heck did I put my phone?
