First post here, been utilizing the wealth of knowledge available here for a while now but ran into something I need a little extra help with.

I'm planning on swapping the rear axle and front diff off of my 2020 TRD sport for a re-geared set off a buddy's 2018 Off Road (he's solid axle swapping his). I found a good write up as far as getting the locker to work, but what about everything else? I assume it should all bolt right up but wanted to confirm with the group.

Any input would be much appreciated!

Your right, they will bolt right up. As you say, you found how to wire and make work. What else are you looking for, as info? Seems like alot of work for a re-gear and oem locker. Do you feel you need that stuff. That's the question.

That's what I was hoping to hear!

I'm running 35's on stock gearing right now so i'm more interested in the re-gear than the locker, although the locker will be an added bonus.
I can get the running gear off my buddy's off road for a lot cheaper than buying and having someone install gears/lockers. I feel comfortable doing the swap myself if everything bolts up but a re-gear is a little out of my comfort zone.

Planning on switching everything over this weekend!

What did he sell the axle for?

He's putting dana 60's and 42's under his so doesn't have much use for the factory running gear lol.

    I meant price.

I considered putting a 14bt in at one point but lost factory 4wd and electronics.

We haven't worked out the price yet but he'll give me a good deal (We grew up together and have been helping eachother build our rigs since before we started driving)

There's a guy near Missoula Montana that specializes in solid axle swapping toyotas and he'll be able to keep most of the factory electronics

He would be the first. My guess is manual Tcase and isolated locker switches. We’ve seen some ECU spoofing but nothing concrete or consistent.

Yep, dual cases and arb lockers. Sounds like he'll have a couple lights on the dash but I think the guy figured out how to get the majority of the electronics to work out
