Just drove about 4,000 miles on my new Geolandars.

road noise: noticeable but very quiet for an MT from 0-60mph, after that 70-80mph I honestly couldn’t hear them anymore. My wife didn’t complain once and we had about 52 hours of drive time over the weekend at highway speeds.

we also got to drive in rain, slush, ice, etc and honestly I thought they performed fine in all conditions. I’ve read mixed reviews on ice, but hey….it’s ice. I even accidentally buried my passenger front in a snowy ditch that was deeper than anticipated (was trying to make room for a guy on trail with a trailer, so it was intentional, just didn’t realize how deep it was) and they hooked up great and crawled out. Just wanted to say I’m super impressed with these after getting to put some miles on them.

Perfectly timed report! My wife and I will be taking a trip up to live at my mother's house in Spokane, WA for a few weeks this winter while they're out of town and I've been worried that these tires may not be up to the task. I'll get some chains as a safety precaution but I've even considered trying to find some used snow tires I can use and then resell when I'm done but maybe that's overkill. I'm mainly worried since they live out in the boonies and one road in their neighborhood is steep, curvy and tends to ice up.

I still have fairly limited experience with the ice and snow on these but I was honestly impressed with how they handled these conditions. Here’s a couple photos my wife snagged of the roads we were on, and the last photo is in GFC’s parking lot. The two days we were there most of the roads in town were icy. It was slick, and I’m sure a proper snow tire or studded tire is superior, but I didn’t feel uncomfortable on the Bozeman pass or Bridger canyon road which were both slushy/icy

Oh yeah, that looks plenty icy! I'm thinking I'll just go with it and see how it works out and I can always put chains on if needed. Thanks!

I just completed 5000 miles on mine and love them. Went with 255/85R16 for a little more clearance. Coming from Duratracs I thought these will be too load but they are about the same. So far I have been on mud, sand and a little bit of rock and they have been great. No experience on snow yet, but seeing all the good reviews on snow / cold weather is encouraging. Will see how they do this winter

I’m about to make the switch to the same setup. 255/85s on 16 steelies. Any words of advice? Is it a worth while switch? I’ll be coming down from 285/75/16s. What’s your gas mileage like?

I'm new to the Tacoma World and recently grabbed a 2023 trd pro. I was going to put the 265/75/16 geolander mt's on it. Now I'm torn on the 255/85/16. I know the 265/75 will fit no problem but will I rub with these 255/85's? Curious if anyone has a stock 21-22 or 23 Trd Pro that has tried the 255/85/16. Thanks

Based on my current calculations, my mpgs dropped by 1.5. I am now consistently around 17-17.5. Previously I was averaging 18.5-19 mpgs. I’m on 265-75-16. It’s the weight that is killing it. If you remain on stock Pro wheels, you’ll mostly clear with the 255-85-16s. I achieved my goal of getting an all around tires that gives me more confidence in mud and rocky trails.
    Note: I don’t rock crawl

I've got 45K miles on mine and they are starting to cup. I could probably get another 10k out of them, but I'm ordering new tires soon with tax money.

Do it. My 255 are lighter that my previous 285 You will actually have a taller tire than the 285’s. My 255’s measures 33 and a 1/4 when I got them new vs the 32.8 on the 285. Gas mill age dropped about 1.5 mpg so I went from 22 to 19.5, but my truck is manual. I running 6112, with factory UCA and I don’t have any rubbing issues. I can now tell you that these tires have been through everything since we wheeled on ice and snow on January 1st. Best all around tire I have ever had

Was that drop from factory tires or from AT? I’m already getting shit MPG due to all the mods so it’s more of a curiosity than trying to keep the MPG up lol. Anyways, my 285/75r16s are only a year old. Ultimately my plan is to lighten up my wheels/tires. I think I’m going to get scs f5 16x8 wheels for now which are only 19lb then get the pizza cutter g005 down the road and throw those on. That’ll be one hell of a light and capable combo. I paid too much for the general grabber atx 285s to get a partial return by trying to sell them used. I appreciate your input!

I had duratracs 285’ they measured 32.8 and weight about 10 more lb than the 255. But the steelies are 5 lb heavier than the stock wheels so I ended up about 5 lb lighter at the end. I guess my mpg dropped because of the roll resistance of the mud tire even when the whole wheel set up is lighter than the previous one. But I love the tire they are not any louder than my previous AT tires

Well after months and months of agonizing, I finally did it…Just ordered the g003’s in 285/75/16.

My wife hates all of you. I’m so excited.

Holy fast shipping Batman. The g003’s have arrived. I haven’t been this stoked for a new purchase since my bed cap arrived.

Bottom pic is the 285/75/16 g003 (right) next to my 265/75/16 grabbers (on the truck). They make the 265’s look like training wheels. g003’s are going on the truck next week…I’ll post more pics then, as is tradition.
