I've only had my 2023 for two weeks and still learning it. The seat belt chime is the only thing I've found annoying so far. I really like the RCTA and BSM but find the radar cruise helpful too. This truck has been a pretty big change from my 2000 Tacoma(which I still have) but I'm really liking it.

There is a guy on TacomaWorld that makes a 3D printed end of the seat belt you can use off road. I think it's like 10 bucks.

How do you turn off the seatbelt buzzer, that thing will scream at ya. I don’t want to void the warranty but would like to know for after the warranty is up.

I actually didn’t realize there was so much technology in the newer vehicles. Hopefully I didn’t get a lemon and I’ll drive it for eeeever. So that’s how I got a FUCKING LIMITED !!! My neighbor just got a new FUCKING F150 with the same amount of technology in it.

Wouldn’t help. My 2019 SR has many (most?) of the items he listed.

Turned off Auto High beams (and actually took over the switch slot location for something else and stowed that switch behind the dash.).

I have no use for Cruise control of any kind (- I never have...).

I have the 3D printed thingy for Off road - but use it mostly when I put stuff on the passenger seat.

Charge pad is there but does not get much use as I have a magnetic mount (metal on phone).

Sirius lapsed and happily let it go... (poor quality sound).
    All good otherwise.

You are missing out not using the Radar Cruise Control.
When my wife got here '18 Mazda 3 with Radar Cruise Control, I thought it was just a stupid gimmick but man it makes road trips so much nicer.
Honestly it's probably the only modern feature I wouldn't want to give up, as long as you don't consider Bluetooth audio a modern feature too.

I disconnect the battery every time I park: I don't trust that inter-space satellite shark thing on my roof. On the web it says it's spying on everything: It's a true fact: look it up: If it's on the Interweb, it has to be true. Just look at what happened to Matthew McConaughey in that movie: One minute he's chasing a drone in his old Dodge Dually Power Wagon, next thing he knows he's twirling around in a black hole. Poor son of a gun. He was never right after that. ;)

My 2010 allows you to turn off the seatbelt warning chime. Best thing I’ve done. And yes, I wear a seatbelt every time.

    • BSM is just a light that goes on on the side view mirrors. Why turn it off? For me it is simply a reassurance when I am 99% sure no one is there.
    • Auto High Beam - Don't you have to actually turn it on? Mine was off by default. I turned it on once and never used it again.
    • Radar cruise control is awesome on the freeway. And similar, it is off by default, you have to turn it on to use it.
    • PCS has saved me a couple of times when I was distracted, but more often than not it is a false warning. But I still leave it on.
To each his own. Glad you have a thick skin. And get off my lawn!

That thing IS annoying. I don't mind the reminder so much: it's the escalation into nagging that annoys me. Every other vehicle I have owned just gives up after a while and maybe will try one last time. It never seems to end in my Tacoma.

Disclaimer: I have always worn the seat-belts. Both in my personal vehicles and the cockpit. (required) All you need is one event with clear-air turbulence that causes you to negative-G drop and bang your head into the roof: -even with a snug four-point harness- to make you a true believer!

According to the manual (and I did try it) if you press the switch for cruise control and release it, radar cruise comes on by default. You have to hold the button in for a few seconds for it to switch to regular cruise control.
