Lexen has a good one too. Either way I'm not confident buying either brand on Amazon or eBay and getting the actual product lol

So, she's done with the exception of two steps.

    1. Move my shit out of the corner so I can relocate the cnc to there

    2. Do the break-in and alignment part of the process

    20230113_163929.jpg

Well, #2 can't happen before #1 and since I'm tired as hell I'll just do it tomorrow.

Once you go separates it is a rabbit hole. my Schitt stuff has been good and they have more options these days to get into some head fi at decent prices. SMSL has some good stuff too, I still have an SA50 I use with Grados.

Oh you don't have to tell me twice

I only did and ever will do separates for HT and 2 Channel.

I'll never do it with headphones cause that shit gets expensive as well.

Good choice btw, I love me some Grados.

Mmm machine tool alignment, do it right haha. Cut a ruler first, if it measures wrong against another ruler (not a measuring tape) then you know something's wrong

Yeah I totally get it. I tend to dig myself into holes with that stuff. When you're buying expensive headphones then taking them apart to put on your own cups and replace wiring etc you know you've gone too far haha. And even some of the baseline Grados are absolute stunners, everyone should have a pair of 80 or 125s
I have avoided vinyl though. Proud of myself for that one

Oh absolutely will! And yeah that's a great idea on the ruler part.

I'll be using some combination squares I have to ensure straightness.

Part of the install already had a process to make sure the gantry tubes were square with each other. Ensures my circles aren't ovals and my squares aren't parallelograms

    Oh man same!

I had the opportunity to jump into vinyl and I said NOPE.

Point to point wiring my own prea-amp, tube rolling, and all that was enough for me.

Machine tool alignments are a PITA but thankfully you only have two axis, makes it go a lot faster. Saves you from learning the arcane art of metrology.

Yeah, no need to go broke over what seem like diminishing returns!

Damn that sux! Any warranty left on them? Looks like the rivets pulled through the boot.
