OK, so you use cruise control, but don't like the radar cruise control? I thought you just meant cruise control in general. Technically though, cruise control, whether it is radar or regular, you still have to turn it on.

Curious if you do use regular CC, what is it about radar that you don't like?

I rarely to never use the regular CC in my 2004 vehicle because inevitably you encounter a vehicle in front of you going slower and you might not have room or time to get around them before you need to manually take over, then when you get around them, you have to resume CC again. With the radar assist the vehicle just does it for you and usually if the vehicle in front is just 1-2 miles slower, I don't even notice.

I will probably try out the radar cruise next week on my trip back to my home town to visit family. I’m not used to all this technology. Ha, my last new ride, before this new Tacoma, had power windows and I thought was the cats meow, lol.

Turned off the ability for the truck to send telemetry to Toyota and whoever else Toyota gives it to.

oh geesh, I hate that thing in my wife’s RAV4. It slows down imperceptibly whenever a stupid idiot passes and starts slowing down really slowly that I don’t notice. Then the next thing I realize we’re going 10mph slower than what I wanted and I didn’t even realize it!

Eh, those features come on most. I don’t use most of them either. LDA is annoying as hell. Don’t have BSM. PCS I leave on because I don’t like the light being on. It works ok but freaks out sometimes which can be startling. Auto high beam inevitably flashes everyone constantly so it stays off. Traction assist is fine. Don’t have parking sensors, if I did they’d be disabled for sure because the beeping drives me batty. Don’t have the Toyota app. Didn’t answer Sirius and they eventually left me alone. Don’t like radar cruise, it’s dumb on a manual.

Pulled the DCM fuse and killed the telematics unit. Some go so far as to unplug or remove it.

I used it all the time in my manual and it was great. The Tacomas don’t disengage cruise control when you downshift if that’s what you’re concerned about.

I suppose I shouldn’t have said dumb. For being a manual it’s actually pretty accommodating with the shift stuff since it keeps the revs up. What I don’t like is that since it follows people, you get slowed down a lot and then it barely has any pick up to get going again. Meaning you have to sit there waiting to shift. I’d rather just leave it on regular cruise and change lanes or disable it and reset when I’m ready again.

Not a fault on Toyota or the function, I just don’t like using it with a manual. The fault is on me for wanting a manual, but I’m ok with using regular cruise so I do.

You search the mod-list, but don't find anything of interest.
Have you done the procedure to "fully" disable the traction assists? IE the: While stationary hold down the tractional control button for several seconds until it disables all traction assists?
