Wonder how it will perform versus a Genesis 3.8?

Isn't that just a purtied up scion TC?

Eh, I guess not, a lot of cars are sharing that theme the kia forte started. WHat is that look. a useable back seat coupe I assume by looking at the rear windows.

Er, nope, Scion TC is FWD. The FT-86 and Genesis coupe are RWD like god intended.

@trek, Toyota had since updated the styling, now called FT-86 II.

They'd have to fix that rear styling, has the same problem the genesis does. Something just doesn't quite sweep from front to back.

you'll never know. Actually the US might just be starting to roll off its fat and greediness for a while.. back into 80s mode.

Maybe we'll even see a midsize or compact tacoma in the future!?

If this goes anything near as well as an Impreza and looks like that, it would definitely be on my short list of cars to look into once I get out of college..

Just out of curiosity, have any of you younger guys that love these small engined cars ever driven or gone for a ride in a V8 car? Maybe I'm just getting old, but I have a hard time understanding terms like bad ass and fast used to describe a car that doesn't have much more power than the Tacoma.

To me, once you know what it feels like to grab second gear and be thrown back into your seat by 400+ lbs-ft of torque it's hard not to laugh at these little hot wheels cars.

Also, I can't understand why the younger crowd all hates chrome, but the first thing they do to these import cars is put the largest CHROME muffler they can find on them.

I'm not trying to insult anyone...just trying to understand the fascination with this type of car.

^ My first car was a Mustang Cobra...I miss that feeling of putting the pedal to the floor, and being shoved back into the seat.

Well, if it's any consolation, I drove a 2011 Mustang Cobra this summer. I also have a '69 Camaro with a Chevelle 454 under the hood. The allure to it for me is almost strictly the styling honestly... It is a decently fast car that people can afford. I really do like it, but to be perfectly honest, I see myself landing in a new Camaro or something similar when college is through. I'm done dawdling with the old cars, always fixing something

I love the styling too, thats what does it for me. Also love the styling of the Genesis Coupe. But, my whole life since the teenage years, I have had a boner for this:

Yes, its a Ford, its not an old style 'stang either but damn....also as Colton has said, I can see myself in Camaro...not the base model either. lol I'd rather have the Bumblebee model...with the Transformer option! Haha!

I do know that it will be powered by a 2.0 liter boxer engine that has been developed by Subaru and that it will be rear wheel driven. The engine has been placed as far back as possible.:drool::drool:

Wasn't it the first concept of this car that is now the Scion Tc?

Mine. My uncle actually gave it to me for xmas when I was 15 (He was moving and had no room for it). Told me I wasn't going to get a present again for at least 10 years. :D It was fully functional then, but since then I bought a 1994(?) Mark IV 454 and a Chevelle tranny, new paintjob and redid the interior. I am considering selling it soon though, as I never get to drive it because I am always working on it and it is in California supposedly being worked on and will be for a while.
