Images to approximate light intensity: There are no pre-defined settings - you can adjust the TCMA-0511 V1 pretty much anywhere from full bright to completely off.

I'm holding out for a wired unit. I leave my lights on all the time and would want this on all the time as well. So when your ready, wired/amber white with amber/white buttons. Let me know when you are ready.

x1million for the wired unit, for the same reasons everyone is mentioning and also i dont like the idea of having to buy batteries for it all the time, or taking it down to replace batteries, then having to buy more tape to restick it on

I dont think that's how it works. You sticker the bars on then the actual bit with the lights and batteries clings to those bars magnetically.

while i like the idea of the lights coming on automagically, i dont want to wait until 2012 for v2.0

    Pretty much stock
from what i can tell, the only thing you stick on is a metal base plate...1 time. The light is magnetic and holds to the metal base so you can take the light off as many times as you want.

Considering you can get the same effect with 12" of wire, two $.17 eBay Hong Kong LEDs and a 1/8" drill bit, I agree that $40 sounds better than the initial $70. But if they're $40k in the hole on this, they have to sell over 700 of them at $70 to break even. That's a huge overhead.

    plus, it looks fucking rad.
