Thanks, that is my next purchase and plan based on the other thread. I won’t need replacement bolts as my BAKFlip includes their own.

Tried that today. Started with a smaller bit and got over half the length of the bolt deep. Went to a larger bit (still smaller than the diameter of the bolt) and the bit broke off! I’m out of ideas now!

I hate that! I stepped mine up with about 4 different sized left handed bits until the left handed bit was large / strong enough to break the bolt free and spin it the rest of the way out. If I were you I'd still try to drill out the back half with a small left handed bit but just be uber careful not to mess up the threads!

I know this is too late but in case it helps anybody in the future I had a stripped screw when I installed my MX4 and after going to multiple body shops and Toyota dealers (some quoted me up to $200 to remove it) it came out after about 30 seconds with vice grips and wd40. No extraction bits or anything required.

I installed the MX4 yesterday on a 2023 Tacoma Sport and stripped three screws - I was not using a drill. Fortunately, I was able to extract all three using vice grips. I attached the vice grip parallel to the truck as I couldn't get a good grip using them perpendicular to the bed.

Also, I watched this video several times including taking my laptop to the truck and pausing as I completed each step:

It took me about 2 hours including dealing with the screws. I imagine people on this forum could complete in less time after unpacking.
